Another Newbie Here

Postby SistaMags » Tue Jan 13, 2009 10:33 am

Hi Everyone, I started south beach on 5th Jan this year. I would like to loose 10kg (22 lbs) and have lost 1.2kg in my first week (2.6 lbs). I exercise 5 days a week with a combination of running, cycling and body pump. I am from Australia and would like to say hello to everyone out there. I found the south beach diet after reading about it in a magazine and ate way too many fruit mince pies during christmas...my husband makes the nicest ones! I had never had a weight issue until about 5 years ago after I stopped breastfeeding my last son and started full time shift work...i am a registered nurse and my weight went up to 87kg (191 lbs) at my heaviest...I am now 73kg (160 lbs) after completing a ketogenic diet...it was extremely strict and I am finding south beach a breeze after that diet......

thanks for listening...

I started Jan. 19th and have lost 9 pounds. So welcome to our little group. Hope you have had good luck. I have a son in law from England and he raves about the fruit minced pies. I guess I must have him make one, just to see what you are braggin about. Ha. Welcome to our chat group and please don't give up on us if no one answers your posts right away. They will, eventually.
Are you still in Austrailia or in the US? welcome to here, too.

I'm a newbie too, started SB 2/9/09! My start weight was 148lbs. i'd be interested to know when folks recommend weighing themselves. i've read once a week is ideal, but i kinda need some mid-week encouragement. is the first week of phase 1 considered water weight loss? right now, i'm weighing in every other day in the morning. i'm seeing results already! shock! ;0)
