Thanks to Red for moving us into our new home :D feels comfy in here.

Welcome Aingeal .

Leigha how's your neck this mornining sweetie? I don't yet know the relevance of the Green Suit  BUT my husband had a surprise interview yesterday and is thinking of moving on....all of a sudden! Yes, I agree it's great to have a wondeful bunch to turn to and now with our new home too. I think we should find a lovely huge Amethyst cave to place in the corner.

Patricia I will check your website out later...thank you. You were very lucky to have a mum like that! I grew up with no-one in my life who had these interests and I started pre-teen too. My mum did allow me to have a tarot deck when I was 13 as I was so insistant and as I was normally extremely placid she agreed, she agreed very reluctantly but told me to keep them in the cupboard and she was never to come across them. So I got them but it wasn't until 10 years later that I had the nerve to start really studying. It's been a very gradual coming out to be myself for the last 26 years! I have never been interested in going to a sceance, scares the heck out of me.

The changes in society are remarkable...I always used to say "I'll send you good vibes for..." not really understanding that it did actually work. I've been reading a lot about the Law of Attraction and vibrations.....I've glanced at Quantum Physics and Mechanics and will get around to reading the books I have from the scientists on that subject when my head is much clearer!

Has anyone seen the films What The Bleep Do We Know or The Secret ?

Hi everyone-
I had a not-so-beachy-day :( I did manage to get to the pool though and exercise abit, so that's good. LOADS of work and not so much time to get it all done in right now- I need to do some serious time management!! I also have an exam to write next week I'm not looking too forward to....

Kelly- thanks again for your post

Aingeal- WELCOME!! I'll do your readings for you ASAP.

Patricia- I too will take a look at your website. What are your thoughts on Donna's book? Are you working through the exercises at the moment?

Ch-neck's feeling a lot better  thanks- I cuddled the dog- he's always keen for a cuddle (we have a cocker spaniel, that pretty much rules the roost here)
I'm so wanting to see 'The secret' I have a friend in Ireland that raved and raved about it, but I can't seem to find it here. She said it really changed the way she looked at things. I've never heard of 'What the bleep do we know' though.
Speaking of the Law of Attraction, have you read Deepak Chopra's 'The Seven Spiritual Laws'?

Love&Light to you all,
L

FENG SHUI

Postby Leigha » Thu Jan 11, 2007 9:05 pm

Here's a short something I posted on another site I work on about RELEASING NEGATIVITY through Feng Shui I thought might be interesting. (I'm currently qualifying as a practioner, I LOVE Feng Shui!!!)

RELEASING NEGATIVITY

To bring anything ‘new’ into your life you need to get rid of the old- let go of things that aren’t working for you. Start in your home by literally throwing away/ donating/ selling stuff that’s just not working for you anymore- stuff an ex-lover gave you, broken things, things you’re hanging onto out of habit, that horrible painting a relative gave you, things you keep ‘just in case’- get rid of the things in your home that constitute clutter and you not only release the negativity attached to them BUT make room for BETTER things to come.

Same goes for emotional baggage (if you can work through it, that is - for example staying in a toxic relationship doesn’t allow any space for a better one to come along...) Surround yourself with things, situations and people you really LOVE, that inspire and uplift you, these things and people will create good energy which in turn will help create the life you dream of.

CREATING ABUNDANCE with FENG SHUI

Once you’ve got rid of all the excess that’s been pulling you down, also remove anything from your home that reminds you of a lack of money, love, health- anything that to you symbolizes poverty, obstacles, confrontation, problems- anything that has bad memories attached to it.

THEN- create an air of luxury throughout your home. This need not cost a fortune- you need to pamper your senses and appeal to your own sense of ‘luxury’. Visit second hand markets, one dollar stores, etc....

Some ideas-

ENTRANCE HALL: a healthy plant, beautiful table lamp, plush rug, fresh flowers in a vase

LIVING ROOM: throw a richly coloured throw over your sofa and add lots of plump cushions, burn essential oils and create a wonderful smell throughout your home, create a spot to sit and relax, read or meditate in....

KITCHEN: a couple of bottles of good wine on the wine rack, fresh garlic, potted herbs on the windowsill

BEDROOM:cushions, coloured or dimmed lighting, candles, a beautiful colour on the walls

BATHROOM: nice bubble bath and loofah, a pile of fresh towels at hand....

Above all remember to appeal to your sense of luxury, not anybody else’s.

Play with colour, texture, lighting, sounds....and have FUN!!

Good Evening all... whew what a day, stressful, anxiety ridden, tense, crabby...and that was just me! Have no clue what is wrong....

Ch thanks for the figuring out the "time" frame for me...like I said I can lose a time zone just going next door! Please fill me in on The Secret seems I've heard something but can't place what or where.

Leigha, (love your name by the way), thanks for the input on feng shui, I've been throwing & giving things away since the first of the year, maybe it will help.

Patricia, Iwill be checking out your website also...you were so lucky to have the support that you did while growing up.

I wish I could say I had family that believed or at least attempted to believe, it wasn't until my grandmother passed that I found out she was interested, and probably would have been delighted to seek information more. But as she was born during the time that it was frowned upon she investigated secretly.

I did pretty well beachy today, thanks to the caterer that has his business next door, he furnished me with this HUGE salad and 2 bottles of water for lunch then topped it off by bringing me veg soup to bring home for supper! :D

I guess as I'm really tired I ought to get ready for bed....I think the day just whipped me right out...take care everyone

Good Morning :D

The Secret is about the Law of Attraction and is a lovely film to watch....makes me feel happy watching it. It's interviews mixed with scenes to visually show what they are talking about. It's uplifting and a great intro into Law of Attraction. You can watch it online or buy the DVD from thesecret.tv What The Bleep is again about the Law of Attraction but also goes into Quantum Mechanics and is based around a film with interviews....it has the physicist Fred Alan Wolfe (amongst others)....he's a mad scientist and makes me laugh...highly exciteable and passionate about his subject.

I'm rushing out the door right now so I'll catch up with you all later....have a lovely day!!

Another one of my favorite Seneca quotes.

Seneca wrote:It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare. It is because we do not dare that things are difficult.

Also in the Feb. issue of Yoga Journal there is an article on "just starting over" by Phillip Moffitt. I went to their online site to see if it might be up there as well and couldn't find it. But I did find this one on the "Tryanny of Expectations" by the same author:
http://www.yogajournal.com/wisdom/1454_1.cfm

IMO, so many of the problems with sticking with this program as a way of life seems to revolve around pre-set expectations regarding specific results and the resulting disappointment with not meeting whatever those expectations were at the outset. Anyway, it seemed kind of appropriate even though it wasn't necessarily what I was looking for!

That was a really interesting article red....very thought provoking. In some ways the expectations are the constant background chatter in our minds. Sometimes I feel like I'm constantly letting go...maybe one day I will be at the stage that I'm not holding on to anything so my letting go is automatic and not a conscious effort!

Do you practice yoga?

Yes. Although it is a relatively secular and athletic studio based practice, i.e. heated power/vinyasa and bikram styles. But working on taking more of my "on mat" experiences and lessons off the mat and into other aspects of my life. And wasn't sure which site you were talking about, but the YJ site is pretty massive. We also have a Yoga thread in the Fitness forum to share yoga stuff within too. Do you practice as well?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
People forget how fast you did a job - but they remember how well you did it.
-- Howard Newton

Hi everyone!!

That's great that you've all been clutter-clearing- it really DOES work to clear the mind and help you focus on your priorities. I find whenever I'm feeling a little confused or 'stuck' I tend to gravitate towards a drawer or cupboard and clean it out. I always feel so much better afterwards.
AS WITHOUT, SO WITHIN.

Red- that is a great site!! I can't do yoga unfortunately, due to my physical limitations (I have severe sceliosis and a neurological disease) I do wish I could though!!

Ch-
I MUST see those movies!! I'm going to try track them down as soon as my workload lightens.

A peaceful, happy weekend to you all.
Don't forget to drink LOADS OF WATER!!

Good morning all...been beaching right along, down 3 pounds...not to shabby I guess. Am going to go and check out the new gym in town this afternoon. From what I gather it could be affordable!!

Still at sorts...feel like the universe and I are going in opposite directions...
can anyone understand that? Stress at work is at an unbelieveable high, so I've made plans today to clean clean clean, do my errands and then spend the evening soaking, reading and meditating...hopefully that will help...

have a pleasant day everyone.
