Two of my families favorites are the General A-Rod's Chicken (I like to add diced jalapenos for some "kick") and the Roasted Brussel sprouts......

A-Rod, just wanted to say thank you for the excellent recipes. We made the Easy Chicken and Bean Salsa Simmer tonight, and it was great! I think we might add some chopped up onions and red peppers next time. I topped it with LF cheese and FF sour cream and it was wonderful. I'm looking forward to trying some of your other recipes soon!

thank you, all! i'm glad these are going to use somewhere other than my kitchen!

cort, i usually add onions and garlic and cilantro to my simmers, or whatever i have laying around. hate red peppers though. ;)

luvs, never thought about the jalapenos but that's a great idea. red pepper flakes would work nicely too, in a pinch. i'll have to do that next time.

A-Rod, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful recipes! I've downloaded everything and am going to use it as the spine for my new SBD recipe notebook. I am a long-time gourmet foodie, too, and am very excited to see my worlds coming together here. I am just starting SBD, and this kind of thing will help me stay interested and connected for the long haul. I hope before long to be paying you back and posting some of my own recipes. I am not a Gourmet fan, but Bon Appetit is my thing. I'm going to try your Sesame Ahi tonight for a special celebration dinner for DH. Thanks again!

glad you like it!

i am also increasingly disappointed with gourmet - way too many ads! i did just pick up ruch reichl's first book [autobiography] ... she is a GREAT writer and writes great stories about her experiences growing up with food. i highly recommend it.

bon appetit is great. i get eating well and REALLY love it - i recommend it if you haven't checked it out. i have a big cooking light recipe book and have been scouring that for good recipes lately - so many are NOT SB-friendly but i'm going to try to modify them. will post some successes!

A-rod you have somewhat of a cult following it seems. I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and try the general a-rod's chicken this weekend...looks freakin deLICious. (thanks for posting about it in your journal, barb!!)

It was GREAT! I'm serious! Easy too. I did add some jalapenos and that was a perfect addition.

A-Rod, I get Eating Well too. I like it, but it could be twice as thick as it is. I just want more good stuff in there.
