Anyone try the Belly Fat Cure diet? I saw the creator Jorge Cruise, on Rachael Ray the other day, picked up his book last night and read the science behind the 'diet'. Basically, all refined, artificial sweetners (including Splenda) and naturally occuring sugars are eliminated (including those hidden sugars like fructose, etc.) and carbs are strictly controlled. Whole grains, sausages!, whole wheat pasta, sauces, are ALLOWED! It inovolves tracking the number of carbs (5-20 grams is one serving of carbs and you are allowed 6 servings per day) and sugars (15 grams per day MAX) one injests on a daily basis. Did you know how much sugar there is in milk? Even Skim Milk? Did you know there is a heck of a lot less sugar in 1/2 and 1/2 cream than in skim milk? Put THAT in your coffee and drink it! .. with STEVIA .. not artifical sweeteners.
It's basically controlling your body's insullin production - not giving it enough of something that produces insullin, makes the body use up the fat stores, i.e. belly fat, which when thrown in with the good carbs, which cleans out your instenstines and reduces what is known as false belly fat. I am an apple shape. I have all of my fat in my belly so this is a very interesting concept to me. I have a bowel movement twice a week which indicates to me that I also have that 'false belly fat' from intenstines full of, well, crap I guess that hasn't left yet.
Anyone actually try it? See any results? The claim is 4-9 pounds in a week (depending on your total weight loss sought, less if you only have 10 lbs to lose total).
