wow, wasnt expecting results already!
starting weight: 150.2
current weight: 146.6 (day 3)
lost 3.6-lbs, woot!

Thats awesome! I am on day three today, this morning I was down 3.1 lbs- so pumped!

Congrats to both of you!!! I wighed in on day 4 and was down 4 lbs YAY! Today is day 5 for me and my husband...happy to say I'm down 7lbs total and he's down 10!!! I can't believe how fast this life change is taking effect!!

Congratulations! I had a baby 2 months ago and in the last week, 2 people have asked me if I was pregnant again!! After crying, I decided to go on the SBD! It's day 3, and I'm down 2 lbs! I think that's a great start...I hope to be like the 3 of you, down more weight come 5 days!!! :D

Congrats. I am now on day 2, and I was happy to hear you are down a number of poundsl on day 3. Do you think this is water weight? I feel much lighter today, and I do not have a lot of weight to lose....just 12-15 pounds...but, when I started, one of the moderators, I think< said I should only expect to lose up to 3 pounds max during Phase I....I am keeping my meals filled with fiber, and I am by no means starving myself...but have insight into how eating does actually faciliate weight loss if you are eating the right things....are you eating more food (veggies)...or, have you substantially decreased your overalll intake of food? Just curious. Good luck!,

You do not need to purposely decrease the amount of food that you eat. You will lose simply by cutting out the sugars and starches, adding more veggies and good carbs, and drinking lots of water.

I'm so happy to hear that you guys are having great results...however I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I feel I have been following the meal plans and avoiding all foods that I am supposed to, but still have only lost 3 lbs and I'm on day 9. Here is a typical day of what I've been eating:

egg white omelet with equivalent of 2-2.5 eggs, with 1/2 cup of veggies in it (for example broccoli, zuchini, mushrooms, and/or red bell pepper), with reduced fat cheese and 2 slices of extra lean turkey bacon

snack: south beach pre-portioned mix of nuts (also i have a cup of decaf coffee with skim milk and 2 splenda mid morning when I get to work)

lunch: salad with 2 cups of mixed greens, lean meat, broccoli slaw, reduced fat feta cheese, and 2 TB balsamic vinagrette
(sometime after lunch i usually have some hot decaf green tea sweetened with a splenda)

snack: 3/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese

dinner: a portion of the meat crust pizza on one of the south beach sites made with reduced fat cheese with 2 cups of steamed vegetables (i.e broccoli, cauliflower)

dessert: sugar free fudgecicle or sugar free jello pudding

this was my typical week 1...i was having major headaches and began to add in 1/3 to 1/2 cup of black beans or garbanzo beans this week. The first three lbs were lost in week 1 but I've been I expected to lose more by now. Any feedback, especially from those of you who are having such great results? I'd really appreciate it.
