Down 25

Postby sheri164 » Wed Jul 26, 2006 2:50 pm

When I started SB last summer, I thought "Gee, if I could just drop 10 or 15 pounds by the end of the year, I'd be happy." Delirious, in fact.

I'd done so many different diets over the course of my life - never sustained, nor with much success. Starving myself worked - when I was much younger - but once I was over 30 or so, I had more sense than to do that again, and I had too much responsibility to jeopardize my health with a starvation diet.

So, I became older and fatter. Part of the weight gain, probably due to what I'd done to damage my metabolism with the starvation dieting.

Anyway, here I am at the ripe old age of 59 - and, despite a two month sojourn off the beach last winter, as of this morning, I've managed - with the help and advice of many here on the boards to reach a 25 pound weight loss.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you.

Thanks to all of you for the pats on the back.

I think the encouraging atmosphere here, and the fact that we can share experiences with folks who know what it's like are some of the biggest factors in being able to stick it out over the long haul.
