Mom,
Yes, most of my close friends know I am doing SB. The TOPS group know too but they always go to this one mexican which is not very SB friendly. I may get the steak & beans again that includes a salad.
The friend I go with the most will sometimes go to places like Windy's where I can get chili. I never learned to drive so I have to depend on other or walk to the school cafeteria. They do have some grilled foods sometimes there & plenty of veggies if I can just leave the bad food alone :? My fiend takes me to Drs & other places & I will buy her lunch for the gas she spends. She prefers that over money as she seldom cooks. I have had her over for healthy foods I fix. She also is a lot over weight. I tried to get her into SB but just 1 day was all she would do.. she just doesn't want to cook & like to eat bad food to much. The way she does is very bad... she eats anything she wants from Wednesday to Monday. Then Monday & Tuesday she hardly eats or eats things like crackers & PButter & takes a laxative she will have a small loss when we weigh on Tuesday nite. That is something I won't do. I won't eat an apple or something very heavy before I go though. I wish I could get out on my own to find good places to eat. I just cook most of my own at home.

Lunch is my biggest meal. I go to bed very late & usually get up very late so I figure the lighter meal at nite is better for me.

I will cook extra veggies & save some for a snack. I don't have any raw veggies on hand right now except for a little eggpant & okra left from my trip to the farmers market & hard to keep fresh with only getting to shop once or twice a month. I do still have a tomato or 2 left.

IF I eat in the cafateria I can do a takeout.. fill my container as full as I can & make 2 meals off that. Sometimes they don't have a friendly meat so I can get all veggies & fruit then fix my own meat at home. I believe now I can resist the dessert & breads along with the sugar drinks now. I didn't try at first. One bad thing is they cook the best corn fritters & fried okra  I don't think they will care even if I put raw veggies or grapes in my drink cup.

I am determined to make a go of it. I do wish I could see a small loss. I have cut way down on the peanut better as I may have been overdoing that.

Thanks for the reply & ideas,
Dar

I'm on my second month of Phase 2 - SW 285, CW 261, GW 195. I'm working out 4-5 times per week (40 minutes weight training, 20 minutes cardio).

Breakfast
Old: what's breakfast?
New: 1 serving Uncle Sams and some fruit, or 2 scrambled eggs, canadian bacon, 1/3 avacodo, 1 serving oatmeal

A.M. Snack
Old: what's an A.M. snack?
New: celery with laughing cow, or Dannon Carb Control Yogurt, or of of the Kraft South Beach 100 calorie snack bars

Lunch
Old: burger and fries with soda, or pizza, or whatever else was totally anti-beach
New: salad with chicken, or tuna fish, or meat/veggie platter, whole or multi-grain bread

P.M. Snack
Old: whatever looked good in the vending machine: candy bar, chips, etc...plus a soda
New: Kraft South Beach 100 calorie snack bar, or nuts, or yogurt, depending on what I had for the A.M. snack

Dinner
Old: burger and fries with soda, or pizza, or, if I cooked, a massive rib-eye and baked potato with a veggie and lots of yummy garlic bread
New: lean meats like chicken or sirloin, lots more fish now, salad, roasted or raw veggies, etc

Dessert
Old: ice cream or pastry of some kind
New: nsa fudgpop or sf popsicle...occasional VERY SMALL nibble of something from the old days (and by VERY SMALL I mean just 1 bite - I seem to be able to keep myself from bingeing very well)[/b]
