Thanks to everyone on this forum! After just a little more than a year I'm 10 pounds under my original goal and at the optimum weight for my height (5'8"). Most of the credit should go to my husband - chief cook in our house.

I'm a little nervous about where to go from here. Not planning to change my way of eating, but need to start thinking something other than "need to lose x more lbs" every day.

I've been lurking on the forum since last May - thought I should finally post and say thanks for all the information and support.

I have reached my goal and lost 20 lbs. I started last March (2011) and lost 10lbs in the first month and have lost a few lbs here and there since then. I appreciate all the good information on this site. My biggest deviation from the diet was that I still enjoyed craft beer (the full calorie kind :o ). I know going in the holidays I will have to be very careful and not go overboard. The South Beach things that resonated most with me was to: (1) watch sugar - avoid candy, ice cream and baked goods; (2) be moderate with starches (breads, pasta) and (3) enjoy low fat protein and vegetables.

Good luck with everyone's diet!
