I have reached my goal and lost 20 lbs. I started last March (2011) and lost 10lbs in the first month and have lost a few lbs here and there since then. I appreciate all the good information on this site. My biggest deviation from the diet was that I still enjoyed craft beer (the full calorie kind
). I know going in the holidays I will have to be very careful and not go overboard. The South Beach things that resonated most with me was to: (1) watch sugar - avoid candy, ice cream and baked goods; (2) be moderate with starches (breads, pasta) and (3) enjoy low fat protein and vegetables.
