Really enjoyed reading this thread! Well said everyone! Most of mine have already been said but a few more are:

Looking through my closet yet again, hoping to find something I can still fit into.

Feet problems from carrying around all this weight.

Anxiety over yearly checkup and getting weighed.

Envy of others who lost weight and got healthy.

Trying to find clothes that minimize my fatness.

Putting on too tight pants that make my fat spill out all around looking like a mushroom

Not wanting anyone near me with a camera.

Things that this teacher won't miss:

I won't miss that weird feeling when picking up junk food like chips (for mom) and feeling like those around me are thinking "God, she shouldn't be eating that!)

I won't miss feeling self-conscious of running around with my kids in gym or on the playground.

I won't miss feeling tired after a long day of school, napping, and eating cheese-its while watching judge judy ( im keeping judy tho )

I won't miss straining to get out of BF's Eclipse (that thing is dang low to the ground)

I won't miss looking down at a movie seat and crossing my fingers that my ghetto booty will fit into it

I won't miss my big leather winter coat...rather i will embrace having my lilac J-Lo coat fitting even better

I won't miss having to buy expensive clothes from a certain store even tho their jeans are the best EVER

I won't miss wanting the kids to stand in front of me in class photos

I won't miss "the fat girl pull" where im constantly pulling down my top so Leroy my Papoose is covered

I won't miss backaches

I won't miss my old clothes

I won't miss the stares of others when BF and I are together (he's very skinny)

Great thread all

I won't miss feeling like I am not strong enough to take control over my weight and my health.

I won't miss my weight being the one thing hiding my self-confidence.

I won't miss paying Weight Watchers $11 a week to stand on a scale and become more frustrated than I was the week before and then sit in a meeting listening to someone gush s/he lost 2 pounds while I didn't budge (or worse, gained)!
I won't miss scanning all the magazines in the supermarket looking for this week's miracle diet plan that promises I will lose 15 pounds in a week!
I won't miss the bloat, the sugar hang over and the shame after a junk food binge.
I won't miss feeling guilty because I would "hate" one of my best friends because she lost 100 pounds when I couldn't
And I sure fire won't miss this 73 pounds when it's all gone!

This is great, and so inspirational!

Things I DEFINITELY won't miss :D

The rolls at the top of my pants

Constantly tugging the bottom of my shirt to make sure no one can see my tummy

Bras cutting into my 'back bacon' creating that unsightly bra roll

Button up shirts NEVER fitting just right

Not being able to breathe as well when i'm wearing jeans

Knowing my boyfriend thinks i'm beautiful, but not FEELING it.

Shorts riding up between my thighs when I walk

The belly that gravity loves so much

Envy of other women

The guilt that binge eating brings

Bathing suit shopping UGH

And last but not least....Breasts that like lookin at the floor rather than in the mirror!

I have responded to this post a time or two(as bbless) 8) and as the weight comes off, there are more things that pop into my mind
I can now walk up and down the boat launch w/o stopping.
I can now jump....yes jump into the boat as it moves
I feel so much younger, not old and grumpy.
I'm ready to face summer.......bring on the tank tops
(well......no shorts, or urge bathingsuits yet  )
and last but not least.......I have put my garden in. this is a big deal for me, I haven't had the energy, or what not, to get up off by but to do it for the last three years. bring on the cherry tomatoes, fresh lettuce, peas, bean.strawberrys, yumm can't wait. :D :D :D Hugs, Bobbi

It's nice to know so many people share the same experiences.. great support!!

I won't miss:

- Not knowing HOW to lose weight, maintain and be healthier!!! I really wish I had known about maintaining stable blood sugar/insulin levels years ago because I hate feeling so hungry you could "eat the arse end out of a skunk", as my dad says.

- Having to think hard about what I'll wear the next day to work, because only certain shirts could be worn with certain pants in order to cover up the rolls/butt.

- Only being able to shop at certain stores, most of which my friends haven't even heard of (except for the three who are also on the beach).

- Having body aches and pains - SORE feet, sore back. So far, with 21 lbs down, stretching everyday, doing basic core pilates for the past three months, my feet and back haven't been hurting much at all.

One funny thing that I am particularily looking forward to:

- Wearing a bikini... I used to be a competitive swimmer and have been wearing Speedo one-pieces since I was little. They're so sporty and I, for once, want to feel comfortable, feminine and free in a 2 piece bikini.

About a year ago one of my friends asked me to be the maid of honor in her wedding. I was so honored to be in her wedding alone. But then terror struck. She wanted these cute pale lavender strapless gowns. I was in pure hell. But worse then that, when we all went to the store to try on the dresses and pay for them. Well, my husband and I were very tight for money. Infact, we had to go without a few things for about a month to come up for the cost of the dress. And I finally had enough, and when it was my turn to go up to the counter to pay for my dress the woman gave me a total of about 35$ more then what the other girls had to pay because my dress was plus sized. I was mortified not only because I didn't have enough money but because of the way she said plus sized. And all the other girls in the wedding plus the bride were all under a size 10.

Things I won't miss:
-Having to pay extra because its plus sized.
-Not wearing shorts because of leg jiggles
-Not having to stretch my tee shirts out before I put them on so they aren't too tight.
-My belly button being an odd stretched shape because the skin on my stomach is stretching it tight.
-Not being able to find belts.
-Not willing to tuck shirts in to show off a belt
-Having to have my watch at one of the largest holes
-Always missing spots when I shave because I can't see
-Being able to pinch a helluva lot more then an inch
-Always being the photographer, never photographed
-Thinking I have to act loud and always telling jokes to make people distracted from what I look like
-Or being quiet and sitting away from the group so noone will pay attention to me
-Not being able to sit indian style on the floor without being breathless
-Waddling instead of walking

And like everyone else...my list can go on and on

I thought of one more and this is a big one for me...

Not going to a spa for a nice massage because I'm too afraid that the massuse will think about how horrible it will be to have to touch and knead at an overweight woman like a giant ball of flabby dough.

mk_sears, I totally sympathize with you on the bridesmaid issue. I was in two separate weddings just more than a year apart. Like you, my first reaction was to feel honored. My second reaction was the dread of having to look for and buy the dresses. I have to give my friends credit, they tried to find something that would work for everyone (one friend allowed all of the bridesmaids to wear a dress of their own choice... I was the only one who bought a formal bridesmaid's dress... I thought that was what I was supposed to do!).

Regarding the massage... do yourself a favor and get one! I just started getting massages about 6 months ago. I used to talk myself out of getting one because I didn't want "a stranger kneading all my flab". I thought I would be particularly weirded out being nude... but the masseuse takes care to keep your bottom, breasts and pelvis covered. Massages really are wonderful! Treat yourself to one when you reach your next mini-goal! You deserve to be pampered... regardless of your size! I've got a massage scheduled for next Sunday afternoon... I absolutely can't wait!

This may sound odd but in losing weight I only focused on my stomach, rear, hips etc. Well lo and behold -- my feet have lost weight as well! I put on a skirt and decided to wear some heels I hadn't had on (for obvious reasons) and although I adjusted them -- they just flopped around my heel. I figured -- the leather stretched and proceeded to try on all my "summer shoes" and except for 2 pair of flats -- my feet have "shrunk". This is a odd but pleasant side effect.

Two things I won't miss:

1. Dreading the next size.

2. My wife's snoring (lol). And she certainly won't miss mine.
