I'm 36 will be 37 on September 5th. I started SB for the first time on August 11th . My success is my bad carb cravings has stopped and I feel very much in control of what I eat. I 'm waiting for the 14th day the end of phase 1 to see my results.

I started the last week of April and managed to make it to 30lb this morning. Not every week has been a loss, but I finally made it. I still have another 40-50lbs to go though!

I'm 37 and I've lost 40 so far with about 35 to go. I started end of March. The last month has been virtually no loss, but I figure this is a lifetime change and my body is adjusting.

I'm 51, started Memorial Day weekend and have lost 37 pounds. Part of my success has been family support, the entire family eats SB meals as it's really just part of a healthier lifestyle. The difference between them & me is they don't avoid the bad carbs (ice cream, alcohol etc) and I do. My husband has just started Phase 1 and lost 6 pounds the first week, his goal is 25 lbs and generally healthier eating habits.

I turn 40 on Sept. 16 and today is day 11 for me. My biggest changes so far is my cravings for bad carbs have gone and Taking the Multi-vitamin w/o iron and Fish Oil that SB suggests have helped my depression. I am actually forgetting to take my meds because in general I am feeling better then I have in a long time. I am having some tough days on SB because I am not loosing as fast as I thought I would ( with 80+ lbs to lose).

I'm 46 and my weight loss has been gradual. Went from size 16 to current size 10. At the moment, my weight has been hovering at 137-138. Both my husband and I started SB at the same time. It makes it easier when you have a partner committed to healthier eating (sometimes reluctantly ) . Good luck to everyone on their journey!

I started going to the gym back in April, and try to go as much as I can during my work week. Usually the best time is on my lunch hour.
I do treadmills, bike, ab machine, and some weights. I started the SB diet back toward the end of July.
I am not really sure what I have lost really. I know i STAYED at 250 most of the last 15 yrs or so, except the one time I tried the Atkins diet and walked every day. I divorced in 2009 and started losing some weight due to the stress of all that.. My ex passed away shortly after that, and I kept the weight off, due to stress, grief, and all. I remarried in 2010 to a WONDERFUL man, and he gives me inspiration to eat healthier, and exercise. He MOTIVATES me instead of putting me down. Our 2 yr anniversary is coming up in March, and I hope to be a much healthier, skinnier wife by then! I have really changed my eating habits, but most of all I am happy now. I no longer am using food to "crutch" my emotions. So today I am down to 202 pounds. I am 5 ft 8 and large frame.. I am not sure what I supposed to weigh. If anyone knows let me know. But I know I would be excited to see 170. It has taken me from April till now i believe to lose about 25 pounds.

Hi, I am 68 years old and have been on every conceivable diet out there (except Atkins and Zone). I started SBD because I saw Dr. Agatston on the Dr. Oz show and was impressed about the way they were talking about the South Beach Diet. I had always thought that SBD was something like the Atkins Diet. I borrowed the original SBD book from a friend and came to the conclusion that this was for me. After 2 weeks, I bought the Super charged book (so I could make notes and highlights) and saw all the additional P1 foods that I stayed on P1 another 2 weeks. That was back in the beginning of March, 2011. I was so suprised at how the cravings had left me. I have suprised all my doctors with my weight loss. I am a diabetic who can not tolerate diabetic medication. They have horrendous reactions in my intestines. My LDL has gone from 89 to 66 and I eat 2-4 eggs a day. I just live for my omelet with cheese and 2 cups of veggies every morning. My triglycerides have finally come down to the normal range; I have had high triglyceride levels for almost 10 years. My A1C has gone down to 5.8; I am almost out of the diabetic range. My IBS problems are under control. Physically I feel so good that I really can't explain fully how I feel. No cravings, no sugar spikes - I will be eating like this for the rest of my life and it's OK. When I go out, I can always find something that's SBD style, even if it means ordering just appetizers and a salad. I just wish I had considered SBD a long time ago.

Healthy bound
That is an awesome testimony! I think a lot off us focus so much on the numbers on the scale thatwe lose sight of the health part of it! To lose even A few pounds can change so any health problems. My blood pressure used to be so high. I know that exercise is the best gift I can give myself. I have thoroughly enjoyed going to the gym. Yes I know i can't do as much as a lot of people do there and don't look as good in my workout clothes but dangit I am moving! And feeling so much better!

cjack71, Thank you. I have received so much help from the South Beach Forum, and feel so great that I cannot resist a chance to give my story. I know I have a long way to go, and I'll go as far as I can go with losing the weight, but I will still have to maintain the SouthBeach style. Just losing the 40 lbs so far has helped my knees. I can do so much more around the house now. Hubby is very supportive and that helps tremendously. I have given all my 'big' clothes away and having a ball finding the old clothes I grew out of. And even some of them have become a 'little loose'. Isn't this a great plan? God Bless Dr. Agatston!
