Phase 1, Week 1

Postby tevye » Sun Aug 15, 2010 9:32 pm

I am on Phase 1 and at the end of Week 1, I have lost 14 pounds. I am now halfway through Week 2 and my weight loss is at an incredible 17 pounds.

My wife decided to join me, but she started two days later than I did . At the end of her Week 1 she's lost 8 pounds!

We're both thrilled.

Wow, Foodie, that seems like a lot of extra work to capitalize the beginning of every single word, and it makes it a little hard to read. Just regular sentence case like I'm doing would be a lot easier for everyone. Unless you have some kind of disability, and your software does that for you?

Tevye, that is great, I am happy for you and your sucess so far.

I am on day 7, having a few problems today, and I know my loss is no where near yours. And I have been following the plan. But I guess we are all different.

So glad you posted your thread, I need to hear these kind of things, they can only help me.

I started the SB diet last year in September and I was a size 26 and got down to a size 16 in only two months right on time for my daughters 3rd birthday party, my husbands family always has something to say about my weight so i was happy when they all said nice things. My life has changed a lot in a year lots of deaths in my family and my marriage started falling apart so i gained all the weight back and started wearing a size 26 again. I stared the SB diet again and this time it is much easier i also have a treadmill and weights so i watch tv or music videos and workout which makes it much better. I have only been on it for 6 days but i feel much better already i have tons of energy and just in a good mood all day.

Hi Everyone,

I'm teetering on the edge of something great I can feel it. It's just having the guts to start. Each day I read the SB Diet book and plan meals, grocery list, etc., but I don't execute. I think a huge factor has to do with living with my boyfriend and the fact that he is trying to put weight on! I think he has a hyper active metabolism ( it runs in the family) I attempted SB diet P1 Las month and was on track with losing 4 lbs in 5 days, but I started to slip. You see, I cook the recipes for both my bf and I . The difference is that he'll eat the chicken with rice or pasta, etc. Whereas I can't! To deprive my body is such a sad thing for me. So i've given in and joined him. I used to be 127lbs @ 5'6" and a body fat percentage of 16% ( played college sports) And throughout that time I ate whatever I wanted! So now here I am 4 years later @ 184lbs. and I feel the weight with every step! A Part of me could be afraid to even start this journey because I'm afraid to fail.

I guess what I'm hoping is that someone has gone through something similar or is going through something similar that has a solution or tips on how to start thing confidently and see it through.

Thanks for any feedback :)

Hi, you need to post on the Phase 1 Discussion Board if you haven't already done so - you'll find lots of support from Phase One people. I'm on Phase Two so won't be as much help. Once you are past the first two weeks and into Phase Two, everything will get a lot easier. You too will be able to have pasta and rice if you want, just the whole-grain variety. For me personally, the only starch/grain things I've added are Ryvita (crisp bread), porridge and cereal, sweet potatoe, green peas. When my husband cooks curry, spag bol etc, I just have extra vegetables and the meat. I get my three portions of grains/starch during the day instead. Anyway, I'm babbling. Good luck with it all XX
