Hello SBD dieters! I'm new on this diet and I think this will be the last sort of hope I have to lose weight. Yeah, you can laugh, but this is the truth. I am 15, (Yeah 15) and weighs an incredible 184 pounds! I am 5'5'' and having the BMI of 29.8 (on Metric) and over 30 on standard. What I wish is to have the BMI of 23- 24, and that would require a diminish of around 40 pounds. I have read the book, and understand the book.

My initial weight is 86 kilos (189.2 lbs) and after having the phase 1 of the diet on three days, and still going, I am now 184 lbs.

Here are my problems. My mouth seems drying out quickly, and sometimes it just feel awkward, taste like something that can't be explained.
Sometimes after eating, I feel dizzy, or just have a headache. I know
Here is what I am eating for the three days.
Breakfast: Tuna in can, with oil, which have 6 grams of carbohydrates per can. I also eat a cup of cabbage, and 2 eggs.
Lunch: Pretty similar to with breakfast.
snacks would be Hard boiled eggs, tuna or cabbages.
Dinner would be chicken breast, skinless with cabbage. Sometimes I ate mackerel in oil or brine as an alternative for the tuna. Mackerel in can have 6 g carbohydrates also.

I'm asking if this would be great plan since I came from a not - so well family. And these meals are only affordable for our budget.
I am not sure if I am doing well for the program, or I am doing it with a lot of errors.
Thanks for any help you'll going to offer! :D cheers.

Please bear with me if I may have post this on the wrong board, I am new here.
Ps. sorry for my bad English.

***Welcome to the Forum. Dr. A. suggests for teenagers to start this diet in P2 because they need the starchy carbs and fruits.
I will add my comments to your questions:

My mouth seems drying out quickly, and sometimes it just feel awkward, taste like something that can't be explained. Sometimes after eating, I feel dizzy, or just have a headache.

***You might be getting into ketosis, that's the taste in your mouth, to avoid it and avoid feeling dizzy and having headaches you need to add beans to your menus, drink plenty of fluids, preferable WATER, drinking your 2 cups of low-fat milk or plain yogurt allowed per day, and eat before you're hungry.

Here is what I am eating for the three days.
Breakfast: Tuna in can, with oil, which have 6 grams of carbohydrates per can. I also eat a cup of cabbage, and 2 eggs.
***It's fine. This is not a low-carb diet, this is a "good" carbs diet.
You might want to add here some plain yogurt sweetened with Splenda, or some low-fat milk, you can add some no-sugar added cocoa powder. You could also have 1 slide of whole-wheat bread here.

Lunch: Pretty similar to with breakfast.
***You might want to add here beans, up to 1/2 cup per meal, but you can have them at more than one meal. Some chili would be good here, or some veggie soup, add a fruit here like and orange for example.

snacks would be Hard boiled eggs, tuna or cabbages.
***Combine the hard boiled eggs with some other veggies too other than just cabbage. This is NOT by any means "the cabbage diet."

Dinner would be chicken breast, skinless with cabbage. Sometimes I ate mackerel in oil or brine as an alternative for the tuna. Mackerel in can have 6 g carbohydrates also.
***Please add variarity to your meals. You would get tired of eating tuna and mackerel all day long. Please add some local fruit like oranges or berries.

I'm asking if this would be great plan since I came from a not - so well family. And these meals are only affordable for our budget.

***I'm sure you can get some local veggies in season that your family can afford. It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive.
Dried beans are very cheap and they can be prepared in many ways. You can also buy inexpensive chicken and let the rest of the family eat the dark meat and you eat the breast. Same with some ground beef.

Good luck and let us know your questions and progress,

I think you are saying the tuna is packed in oil - is that right? You should get the kind packed in water. The kind of oil that tuna is packed in is OK, but there is too much of it.

Sorry, my reply is a bit late. Have been busy for a long time. Yeah, thanks for the advice! I am appreciating it. Yeah, I could see changes just after a week. my weight now is 178 pounds. before is 189. will that be a great improvement? No change in waistline though. By the way I have varied my food list. I put tofu into my recipe. Occasionally I am doing chili, like now!

Thanks!
