Is it possible to lose 10 pounds in 7 weeks??

Postby melrulez » Fri Sep 18, 2009 8:34 am

I'm desperate in losing my last 10 pounds as i have to be a bridesmaid at my bestfriend's wedding in 7 weeks time. At the moment, I am on day 6 of ph1. I lost 4pounds these 6 days but it seems like my weight has been the same these 2 days and i'm starting to get worried. I'm starting to lose focus & devastated that i had 250g of pistachio nuts just now (i know we are limit to 30 only per day). excessive pistachio today is my only cheat for the past 6 days. Should I continue to ph 2 or should i do ph 1 for the next 8 days?

please helpppp.......

The last ten pounds in any weight loss program is the hardest, and SB isn't really a quick loss program. If you feel that your cravings are gone, you can continue to Phase 2. That way you'll have more good carbs for energy and you can bump up your exercise, which may help you lose those last 5-10.

It sounds like you're weighing yourself too often and expecting too much. Relax and just concentrate on eating right. You may not lose everything you want to by that wedding, but you will have reaped a lot of benefits that will start you on the right track to being healthy longterm.
My FAQ-- food lists, portion guidelines, etc.

Thanks for replying and your advises guys. I try to weigh myself every morning when i wake up. I've been trying to avoid the scales, but its in the bathroom so i can't avoid it

Anyway, This morning i weigh myself and i lost about 400g of weight. So i'm feeling much better and encouraged more.

I have lost the cravings, so i will continue to ph2 today and will have a good wholegrain cereal with NF milk for breakfast today.

THANKS for your responses. Made me feel so much better :D

Another encouraging thing to think about is that on SB, for some reason, many people feel slimmer and look better and get compliments before the scale starts budging. There seems to be a lag. Judge by how you're feeling - less cravings, more energy, looser pants, etc., not by what the scale says every day because that's going to fluctuate depending on water retention, constipation, and other factors.

I always feel tempted to weigh myself too often, and the advice from a lot of "experts" is that you should maybe weigh yourself twice a week.

I suggest moving your scale! Put it where you do laundry, or in the garage, or out of the way in a closet. Then choose two or three days out of the week to weigh yourself and only bust out the scale on those specific days. That's just my advice based on having the same problem - having the thing sitting in the bathroom made it impossible not to weigh myself every day, but so much focus on that number distracts me from really paying attention to my eating habits and the gradual changes that the scale can't measure.

Also, good luck!
