Deleting your own posts!

Postby RedRox » Fri Aug 25, 2006 5:57 pm

Since the server and forums seem to be back in a slow down mode, I just wanted to make everyone aware that if they see they ended up with multiple posts (either as now topics or within threads), you have the ability to delete them yourselves, as long as no one else has responded to it yet. Go back into the extra post (or the last one if in a thread) and look along hte title bar of the post where the Quote and Edit buttons are on the right hand side. You should also still see an "X" button. This is the delete button. Click on it, confirm you want it deleted and it will go away!

Also, here is a tip I have been using lately. The slow down seems to occur when the system tries to complete the process by bringing you back to the screen where you get the option to go to your post or to the forum. It hangs up before you get back to this point, so likely your post has already occurred! Click in the text box, do a CTRL-A (or right click/Select All) to select all the text and a CTRL-C (or right click/Copy) to copy it out to the clipboard. Click the Back button on your browser and refresh the page. You will more than likely see your post is there. If it is not, just repeat the process of clicking on the New Topic or Post Reply button, go into the text window/block and do a CTRL-V (or right click Paste) to put your response back in and try again.

Good luck!! And please don't ask when this issue will be "fixed". The mods have no control whatsoever over this problem and we are just as annoyed as the rest of you. Perhaps more so, because of all the extra posts we keep having to delete! ;)
