I'm new, and I know that I don't work at Starbucks, but if you are willing to look elsewhere for your coffee needs:

I work at a Borders Cafe (they're in Borders bookstores in the US...but some may have already switched to Seattle's Best and I don't know what they have).

We have SEVERAL types of SF syrups, all made with Splenda, including SF chocolate, Kahlua, Malibu Coconut, Hazelnut, Vanilla and Caramel.

With nonfat milk I'm pretty sure that you should be doing fine.

So you have several options for mochas, lattes, and cappucinos (or just adding to your coffee). I don't know about other stores, but we also sell our syrups by the bottle for at home. :)

There's also several local joints in every city. I used to go to "Joe Muggs", which I think was "Seattle's Best". But, I either go to SBs here or the other local joint (surprisingly, the local point really has better tasting coffee, imo).

I always get decaf of whatever I'm getting. And I always get nonfat milk. And I never get added syrup. I love cappucinos. But, lately I've been getting 3 decaf espresso shots and then adding about 4 oz of nonfat milk to it -- it's a very satisfying drink, imo -- totally SB allowed and gives me some of the dairy that I need every day.
To be lean, healthy and fat-free, you must see yourself as being capable of achieving that body and worthy of maintaining it.

Aaa...Starbucks. How I miss it. I have found however, that their website is very helpful with the nutritional information and easy to determine what is okay on the SBD. And the poster above is right, the Light Frap is allowed for phase 2 and 3 (mm....good).

I think you'd have to ask to see the actual ingredient list on the base mix of the fraps to know for sure. This topic has been discussed before and I believe someone checked and said that the base mix they use for all their frappaccinos have lots of sugar in them. I really don't think that they are a sb friendly product. Maybe someone else that knows more will weigh in with an answer too.

I'd still avoid them because I don't know what is actually in them. But 20 gms of sugar for a 16 oz. serving is in the ball park for 2 cups of milk all by itself. (Actually seems a bit low.) A 16 oz frapp lite would consume all your dairy allowance for the day though. Personally I think you are better off sticking to a non-fat iced latte in the small/tall size. YMMV.

Hey, Texannnie! (or any other knowledgeable Starbucks aficionado!)
It's a joy not to have to give up my beloved morning double-short-nonfat-extra-hot-no-foam lattes (this is day 2 on the beach for me...)

However, there is one product which hasn't come up (as far as I know) on
the Forum, and which I do ike to splurge on occasionally - the new canned "Doubleshot Light" beverage. I *think* it could qualify as an occasional "Sweet Treat. At least on Phase 2 - maybe not on Phase 1. Your thoughts?

Here are the specs:

Calories: 70
Total Fat: 4g
Cholesterol: 15 mg
Sodium: 50 mg
Total Carbohydrate: 6g
Sugars: 5g
Protein: 3g

The sweetener in this canned beverage is Sucralose - I'm assuming the sugars in this come from the milk products used. They use mostly reduced fat milk, but there is a bit of actual cream in this as well.

So - what do you think? I don't want to shoot myself in the foot, but I don't want to cut these completely out of my life unnecessarily either.
