hello all,

i've been on sbd phase 1 for 5 days and i am soooo grumpy!! i have lost about 4 pounds so far which is great, but i feel extremely edgy around my husband/friends/family. is this normal?? i have been trying to eat more legumes the past couple days to see if that helps at all, but so far it hasn't changed much. tonight i just want to crawl into a hole and eat popcorn :( sigh. please tell me others have gone through the same thing and have managed to shake it off.

The beans/legumes should help-- have a half cup serving as part of your 2+ cups of veggies with both lunch and dinner.

And your 2 cups of dairy (which does not include cheese-- any kind of cheese-- it's a protein on SB). That's the allowed kinds of milk and yogurt from the FAQ food list.
My FAQ-- food lists, portion guidelines, etc.

SB since Nov '03
Goal: major weight loss (50+ lbs) & good health

I, too have had that cranky/mad at the world feeling a few times during phase 1 (now beginning the transition to phase 2) but it seemed to lessen after I finally taught myself that both milk and cheese were not considered dairy on SB. (milk=dairy, cheese=protein) When I started incorporating milk back, (also one of my favorite beverages) these feelings lessened. Also, of great help., was getting more sleep, which I hear, may aid in weight loss.
Starting Weight: 270.4
Now over a month in and down to 252!
More importantly, cravings mostly gone and clothings bigger!
Currently in: Phase "1.5"
