Too much spaghetti squash?

Postby melissac1980 » Wed Jan 12, 2011 12:13 am

So I made the squash on sunday with my sunday Italian sauce, always loved this veggie, so versatile and helpful for low carbers!! I've been eating leftovers for 3 days now though lol with sauce, I dont add any extra sugar to my home-made sauce but I am feeling better today on day 8 then I did all week, maybe I over did the squash and had too many carbs?? I felt so shitty the last week, couldnt concentrate or anything. Could I have eaten too much squash ??

Spaghetti squash is fine in any reasonable amounts in phase 1. Feeling bad isn't a normal part of SBD, so if you're feeling better it doesn't mean you did anything wrong. In fact, what might have happened is that you weren't eating enough good carbs to keep your energy levels up, and now you are. But the carbs you get from tomatoes (including no-sugar-added tomato sauce), spaghetti squash, etc. are good carbs. And the vegetables themselves are incredibly healthy in lots of other ways too. So do get a variety of vegetables, and don't worry about eating too many. :)

BTW, SB is not low carb. We (should) include plenty of good carbs in all phases.
My FAQ-- food lists, portion guidelines, etc.
