Day #2 on diet and I've cheated!!!

Postby SecondTyme on Mon Nov 02, 2009 3:41 pm

Yesterday, I did good I had salads but I know that will get old fast! I had 2 hard boiled eggs and I grabbed a bottled water this morning but I slipped a few minutes ago I had a handful of candycorn :( Co-worker set them right in from of me. I'm WEAK! but determined! I'm won't let this slip up stop me. I'm not looking at my overall goal right now. I am working towards losing 10 lbs, and once I have....I will do another 10 lbs...and so on :) With Thanksgiving around the corner...its a challenge!

you really need to look at the food lists and the meal planning templates. 2 eggs and some water is not enough food for breakfast. you probably went for the candycorn since you were still hungry. I'm not sure you have a good grasp of the overall concepts of this lifestyle change program. Maybe try to read some of the sticky topics and review some of the links in the P1 FAQ sticky topic here to get a better idea of what you should be eating. :D

As you get adjusted to this new lifestyle, you will come to realize the power the word "No" holds especially when it comes to co-workers. They will try to tempt you, lure you and persuade you into eating all the office snacks and goodies that go around particularly as the holidays approach. After they continue to hear “No thank you” from you over and over again as they offer their junk you’ll notice they will eventually stop asking and offering you treats. Worst case scenario, they don’t stop so you throw the goodies in the trash after they leave

Three of the most important words for weight loss right there - "no thank you"! :)

Thanks for all the suggestions:) I went grocery shopping with my list. This morning I did much better. I did have eggs BUT I also had veggies & turkey sauage which had 0.13 grams carbs (1% carbs). I'm stuffed!

Remember this is not a low carb eating program even in P1 and you don't need to count them. For protein sources the more important numbers are total fat and saturated fat content as carb counts will be negligible in most protein sources anyway. You can easily eat 80-100 gms of good carbs daily in P1 just from the P1 sources and allowances. Your body needs good carbs, just as it needs lean proteins and good fats to function effectively and optimally. The goal is to eat a healthy balanced dietary program, not remove important macronutrients from your diet.
