Karrebear - Thank you for the well wishes, I feel much better today. Not much of an appetite, so no snacks today.

B- 2 eggs scrambled with zucchini, mushrooms, and onions
L- Salad with cucumbers, cheese, mushrooms, onions, chick peas, and ranch
D- planning on having lettuce wraps with boca burger, mayo, black beans, cheese, mushrooms, and onions

My mushrooms and onions will go bad tomorrow if I don't eat them today, so I need to eat them all today... at least they're unlimited! :D
So I weighed myself today, and I am down 4.5 pounds! Hooray! I don't expect to lose much next week. But 4.5 is an incredible start!

Hi everyone,

It's been a good week on the diet with only the first day being the most difficult. I'm excited about weighing tomorrow to see how well I've done. The weekend has been easy to stay on it because I have such great support from my husband that is a great cook and is making some great SB recipes.

Good luck to everyone for your week weigh in.

Hi, I started on Monday 9th November, so day 8 of P1 for me now. I'm in England too - I saw another Brit on here? I'm currently 160 lb (lost 5lb in week 1), want to get to 139 ideally. It's all going well, at I haven't felt I'm missing out (too much!), but breakfasts are getting kind of boring! I've been glad to see some other ideas on this thread, will try something different tomorrow. Hope everyone's doing ok and getting over the first week shakes - I felt like death on day 5, bit shaky, headaches, totally USELESS concentration at work! But day 6 felt like a new woman  Anyway, I've got exercise :!: to do, hope to catch up later :D

Oh, and how do I get my ticker on here? I think I got one yesterday but don't know how to attach it here! Thanks in advance

Hi BritFit! I'm the other Brit hanging around :D I'm in Kent. Welcome to our little gang :)

For ticker....if you go into User Control Panel (just above thread title on the left) click on the profile tab, go into Edit Signature and put the [url] address in there. HTH!

I've just weighed myself even though I'm a day early I figured I should catch up with you guys  And I was excited to see that i've lost 5lbs!!!!! :D Really inspiring to see as it makes me 11 stone something rather than 12 stone something....so almost feels like I've lost a whole stone (14lbs)

OOooo better go and change my sig too! :)

Hi everyone!

I would like to join your group too! I want to start tomorrow. It's my first SB experience. After my pregnancy I need to lose at least 40lbs. At the moment I am at 185lbs.
I have never weight that much and I feel awful! I really need some support and after some bad experiences with other diets I want to make it through this time! It's good to have someone to talk to.
Hope to have success with SB like all of you :D

Made it the first week! Lost 8 pounds, so that is really encouraging to continue and to increase my exercise too. Hope everyone else is doing great.

Question-anyone have any suggestions to get more fiber in your diet these first few weeks?

Hi Everyone- this is my first time being on the SB Diet. I started on 11/09, I lost 6.5 my first week. I am glad to have a support system, sometimes taking the journey with others doesn't feel so bad!! Good luck to all.

I have a quick question, what kind of Ranch Dressing can you use?

Low fat or fat free prepared dressing as long as they're low sugar. I *think* that by low sugar it means 2-3 grams or less of sugar per serving. I'm not 100% sure on the sugar grams number, but it's got to be close to that.

Good luck on your journey...Enjoy the weather on the beach!

Regular full-fat ranch dressing is fine. Almost any brand will work. If you can find a LF or NF dressing that's also low sugar, you can use that, but you will need to add good fats in some other way.

See, awesome, I knew someone would set me straight! Thanks for the refresher, Magna - I didn't even think about the other good fats - I usually don't do my dressings that way! (Yeah, I'm one of those EVOO/vinegar/lemon juice types...hehe) One day I'll get it 100%!

Here's information on salad dressings (third post down):
viewtopic.php?p=310708&#310708

Most dressings use soybean oil because it's cheaper. It's OK, though I think olive or canola oil would be healthier. If you can find a dressing made with one of those healthier oils, or if you want to make your own, go for it! BTW, there are a number of very healthy oils that you can't cook with but that are ideal for salad dressing - walnut oil, for instance.

Here's an article about some healthy oils and how to use them (it's 2 pages, so be sure to go on to the second page):

Oooo interesting because I'm getting a little bored with plain old EVOO and vinegar

Todays menu

B - V8, scrambled egg with herbs
S - veg sticks with hummus
L - Salad Nicoise
S - seem to keep missing this one and get really hungry when cooking dinner but so far haven't succumbed :D
D - Grilled salmon fillet with rosemary and garlic, spinach and peas
S - SF jelly
