Hey everyone I wanted to jump right in for some support. I did this WOL back in 1/2007 and was very successful at dropping 60 pounds then I stumbled off the path gained 10 back but have still managed to keep the 50 off. So here I am recommitting myself starting phase 1, I actually started Thursday. I forgot how easy it is to adhere to this WOL when you plan. I always am filled and never left hungry. My food is mapped out until this upcoming Thursday. Wednesday I will plan for the next week.

Good luck everyone!

Count me in as well! I've had amazing success with SBD in the past. Weight had gradually crept over the past couple years, then I got mono this spring, which left me completely wiped out energy-wise (like, 14+ hours of sleep a night was sometimes just not enough wiped out). Excercise (which had been keeping my weight down) was pretty much out of the question. Problem was, my eating habits didn't change to account for the lack of activity. I've gained almost 30 lbs in the past 5 months. Today, I had to go buy new clothes for work because I had long given away all my larger sized clothes, and have very little to wear right now that will actually fit. *sigh* I did buy a couple transition pairs of pants. too small now, but should fit in a few weeks if all is going as planned!

My energy levels are finally getting back to normal, and this weight has got to go! Plus, I figure this is the time to do it, what with the farmer's market at it's peak, putting me into sensory overload!

So, I've scanned Kailyn's Kitchen's SBD recipes and armed with lots of great recipes, along with plenty of chicken breast, lean steaks, and lean pork chops, and TON of fresh veggies!

My one challenge is going to be breakfast. I like eggs, and have lately been eating a great deal of them lately, but have figured out that my childhood egg allergy has returned, so I'm having to limit my intake of them. Inconvenient for phase 1. LOL.

I'll be doing measurements (ugh) tonight, and weighing myself at work tomorrow. Can't wait to get started!

Hi everybody,
would like to join you by starting on Monday.... Like some of you I've lost some weight with SBD once before but unfortunately gained some of it back. :( I'm at the stage, where all my clothes is getting really tight and I'm feeling very uncomfortable.
I might not be able to post a lot on this site, but will check in as much as I can (probably only on the weekends)

Wishing good luck to all of us!!!!

Happy start of phase 1 everyone. Have a fantastic week and i really look forward to hearing of all the success we will undoubtly achieve by the end of the week. Although I also started on Thursday (I saw someone else had) I am going to count this as my first day because yesterday while I did okay with food choices I think my portion sizes were a bit big. For supper last night I had one cup of cooked white beans with tomoto and veg with a little bit of feta crumbled on the top but in the book it says you should stick to about 90g. i had precooked them and did not feel like making something different. So today I will be more organised = i loved the idea of planning the whole week, do you find you stick to it? Best of luck to you allxxx

OK, the day is here and I'm actually really glad it is. I'm disgusted with myself and the way I've been eating. My clothes are tight, I feel sluggish and lazy and I know that if I eat correctly, I will feel better. I'm hoping to keep my memory green and remember how rotten I feel when I eat sugar and white carby foods.

I did the dreaded weigh-in today - I've been avoiding the scale recently - and I was 199.5. I'm so annoyed at myself for letting this happen. At this point, my goal is to get down to 175, so that's about 25 lbs. My 'mini-goal' is to get out of the 190's, so today is day one.

For breakfast I'm having coffee with 1 Splenda and a splash of fat-free Half & Half (hope that's OK), 6 oz. of low sodium V-8, 1/2 cup of Eggbeaters and 1 slice of turkey bacon.

I'm really kind of excited about starting this. I've half-heartedly started before, but I feel much stronger and more commited this time.

How's everyone feeling about starting?

Not sure you have enough vegetables. Need a 1/2 cup at brekkie and 2 cups at lunch and 2 cups at dinner as minimums. Also didn't see any dairy or too many beans other than the chili for one lunch. Both the dairy and beans regularly will give you more carbs to provide energy and avoid ketosis. Be sure to review the meal planning template and food list linked into the P1 FAQ sticky topic to make sure you are matching up your menus appropriately with the meal planning guidelines. Good luck! Planning is a very good thing! :D

AEFilk,

your breakfast choices sound interesting... Did you find the recipes here on the forum-site? Breakfast will be the real challenge for me, since I usually don't eat until lunch, but know I'm supposed to have breakfast...

Okay, I've officially started! Unfortunately, canning this weekend took up a lot of my time this weekend, so I don't feel I'm as prepared as I should be. Hoping I can use the lunch hour at work today to get more of a meal plan nailed down.

Today's meals will be:

Breakfast
LS V8
1 egg, cooked in microwave
Top round steak (size of palm) grilled in grill pan with cooking spray.

Lunch
Salad with field greens, red bell pepper, cucumbers, and zucchini
Turkey lunch meat

Snack
Celery with laughing cow light cheese

Dinner
Morrocan Chicken breast (http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/moroccan_spiced_grilled_chicken_breasts/)
Roasted Eggplant and Green beans (done with some middle eastern spice to complement the chicken)
8 oz. skim milk to drink

I need to stop at the store tonight and pick up avocados and nuts. Or maybe I'll run to the store over my lunch hour so I can have the avocado on my salad!

I'm not normally a beef eater, but had a coupon for $3 off fresh meat at Costco, and a big package of top round steak was the cheapest option, so I went with it. Have to say, having steak and eggs on day 1 of a diet just seems bizarre... esp. when my normal breakfast would be kashi with pb, blueberries, and skim milk!

Forgot to weigh myself before breakfast today, so I'll do it tomorrow.

Good luck everyone! :)

Here's my plan for the rest of the day. I just grilled up some chicken tenderloins, so I'll freeze some of those - it's great to have on hand for those times when I just don't have the time to cook.

Breakfast: 6 oz. low sodium V-8, 1/2 cup Eggbeaters, 1 sl. turkey bacon, coffee with 1 Splenda and splash of FF Half & Half
Snack: sliced zucchini with lite laughing cow cheese
Lunch: tossed salad: lettuce, cucumber, roasted red pepper, black olives, tomato, canellini beans, and grilled chicken; 2T salad dressing
Snack: 12 walnuts with rf Jarlesburg cheese
Dinner: Broiled salmon with broccoli, zucchini and a few cannelini beans
Snack/Dessert: 1 cup of yogurt

I hope I can stick with it - I'm feeling strong right now. I'm also going to try and drink more water; something I don't do enough.

I'll join ya'll. I have done this before - witih GREAT success and I don't know why I fell off the wagon, but I'm back on today and plan to do this till I loose the additional weight I want. I lost about 50 lbs the first go round, have gained about 12 back, so I want to loose another 35 lbs. I know from before, planning is the key! Good luck to everyone.
