Thank you for telling me your plans.

Good luck with your new plan.

This is working for me so maybe I will just hang out and keep posting- by myself.

WW never worked for me but maybe the new pan will. I know that as a former fitness coach and nutrtion counselor- there is no magic with weight loss--- a calorie is a calorie. And the older we get the more we need to move.

So Good Luck...... Fluffy

Welcome Mary,

I have not been on this site for a while as it ended up being just me. I will participate if you want to join. When are you starting? In the past I have been very successful with SB and this program makes sense. The first couple of weeks are a challenge but it does help readjust your eating and supposedly it regulates your carb desire a bit. It does take some planning so you are wise to prepare for the start day. How can I help you? And welcome! bb

Day 4 of phase 1--- NY eve I had some wine but other than that I am on target. Love my non-fat sour cream dip with red pepper strips. Bean Spout salad and roasted chicken

Going for the blackeyed peas and greens for some good luck. Might even open the front and back door. "Good Luck in and Bad Luck out". I grew up in a superstitious home and I do some things because of tradition and not out of belief.

Today I will participate in my Buddhist practice of chanting for World Peace. It is a moving experience to be with other Buddhist and usher in the New Year.

I chant for your true Happiness-

I also pray for World Peace. BB

I will be right here with you. Planning is really key. Identify food types that you enjoy and work them into phase 1.

I can post my daily meals if that helps. I write them out on sparkspeople which really keeps me on track as well.

58 years old and started SBD for the first time today. I've got 75 pounds to lose but , mostly i want to get rid of the belly fat !!!
I quit smoking a year ago. Started walking a mile and a half a day. and switched to a "whole food" diet.
lost some weight and gained it back.
Then i saw the author of "The wisdom of Menopause " on PBS . She described a diet that sounded like South Beach. So here i am , looking forward to stableizing my blood sugar, taming those carb craving and saying good bye to belly fat.
I get the feeling that the most important part of this diet will be this forum. I'm so glad i found it.

HI LaTeeDotTee

I dont remember if i mentioned i'm in New Mexico. I've been here for about 12 years now and love the southwest! Originally i'm from Maine, it's quite a change, altho this week's cold weather reminds me very much of home.

Morning all

Happy to see so many newcomers. It does help to have this support. Having support at home is essential.

I am off to work but will post my daily meal plan later. Cheer to our group success.

I'm from Minnesota, well actually from Missouri, moved up north 3 years ago after my huband had a job transfer. Have 2 teenage kids, a dog and 2 cats. Get very home sick during the holidays. Husband and kids are all thin and both sides of the family are in Missouri so the support I get from here is important. Maing my grocery list today, shop tomorrow and start Monday.

I went to nursing school in KC, Mo and am originally a KS kid.

Maybe share your food plans at least for the first few days. That keeps you focused. bb

Our temperature high today is 81. I think it must be a record. I admit I am eating (and drinking!) many of the things I think I will miss. Lo carb Mich is pretty good. I think sugar is going to be the hardest thing for me because I really hate splenda and if I take too much I get a headache. I think I can do without sugar better than replacing. I just wonder if down the road I can use small amounts of sugar to flavor things. I'm pretty hyped about this live-it (not diet, I read). Can't wait to lose the apple shape. Or as my grandma used to say "A potatoe on 2 toothpicks." Now...off to football!
