Hi and thanks for the welcome.
Sassy - I had been (notice the past tense) a successful Weight Watcher and lost 85 pounds in 2004. It has taken 4 years, but I did gain almost all of it back.

After several more attempts to do WW, I decided to try SB. I have a friend that has been successful on SB, but stopped w/o reaching her goal. So, we are starting in Saturday. Since it's P1, she advised that we wait until after T'giving, so I'm following her lead. I'm getting everything ready and have bought beans, tomato juice, hummus, turkey sausage, eggs, 93% ground beef, and a few other things. I will get all the fresh veggies on Friday. You are doing great with the recumbent bike! Anyway, thanks again for the welcome, and thanks, too, for starting this thread.
Rebecca - health problems sure are good reasons to lose the weight. You are right, we have different issues than the younger SBers. I am 55, and went through the Big M about 6 years ago. I was lucky in that I had a fairly easy time of it. Other than hot flashes, it wasn't too bad. I sure don't miss those monthly visits, haha.
About me - I am married, have 3 grown children, and 6 grands. I worked as a Human Resources Director for years, then chose to stay home. My DH is 10 years older than me, and is retired. We live in the country, and our older DD lives nearby with her 3 girls. We help with child care for her, because of her work hours.
I love to read, scrapbook, travel, visit with friends, stay involved with my church, and am an animal lover. I like all sorts of music except hip hop and jazz.
Please tell me about yourselves.
