You're not the only SB drinker! I have 1-2 glasses of red wine on most days. But I stick to wine for the most part. Since I started SB on 12/26/08, I think I've had 2 lite beers, and a few bourbons, but mostly it's wine. So far, it doesn't seem be adversly affecting my weight loss. That wasn't something I was ready to change - and red wine is doctor recommended, right?

If your meals are all SB friendly, and the drinks are the only place that you're going off plan, maybe they *are* the problem for you. Everyone is different. Maybe try cutting it out for a few days? Have a tonic with lime as your before-dinner drink instead. Change things up a little and see what happens.

Thanks so much for the advise. My husband just had surgery on his foot and I am home taking care of him so I plan not to have alcohol for a few days...then I am probably going back to two or three before dinner! I just am not willing to give that up even if I need to exercise to have them :) I am actually quite pleased with the nine pounds I've lost but dont want to give up on the last four....

Hi everyone, I am starting Phase 2 transitioning from Phase 1 ....this is day 3....I am doing ok....on phase 1, lost 5.5 lbs...got on scale today and still same...no change yet....I have been on SB before and lost 35lbs. After three years, managed to gain about 20 of it back....my stupid fault! But, I am determined to get down to my goal weight and stay orever....I want to be a part of a group that logs on daily and this seems perfect for me....looking forward to sharing with everyone.

I lost about 5 pounds on Phase 1 (have 10-15 more to go) but have a few questions re phase 2--

Is Swiss miss sugar free hot chocolate allowed? I couldn't find anything regarding this.

Also, what do you think about adding a slice of whole grain, sugar free bread with 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter for breakfast?

    Hi everyone!

I ended successfully the first phase, but when i tried to transition to phase 2, i made a lot of mistakes (introduced to many carbs) and i gained 2 pounds and my cravings are back. somehow is very hard to resist. my question is should i go back to phase 1? or should i try to stay in phase 2?
    Thanks

This is my first post. I am finishing up Phase I in a couple of days and this forum has given me some very constructive ideas for maintaining the SB diet. This transition to reintroducing to carbs is critical for me. The slow introduction to grains and fruit will be such a help. I, like many others, have tried this diet before but I must have added too much too fast when I did Phase II before. I'M GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME.......LONG TERM!

I passed Phase 1 and now on second week of Phase 2, I lost 14 pounds so far and felt so great.
In the beginning of Phase 2 I gained some weight, probably because I cheated a little :D and learnt my lesson, but now it started to go down steadily, hopefully I can meet the goal within 2-3 months and very excited about it.

So from what I can see, you will cheat a little here and there, but don't go overboard, and try to keep on track with healthy and right food, you'll definitely see good result and frankly it wasn't so hard as I first thought.

I am still in P1, but preparing myself for P2. I have read the book, but I find these boards more helpful than the book. I know what to expect and what not to expect during my transition. Thanks for the information.

kikusan- you should stay in phase 2 and just monitor what you add to your meals. I had the same problem and quickly realized that adding an apple to my diet will throw me off and cause cravings/weight gain. Needless to say, I've learned that apples are not my friends. lol So, I dont eat them. Add one thing at a time and wait to see how your body reacts to that item.
