Yup..... they are a "good fat" and are listed under "Fats and Oils" on the food list.
1/3 of an avocado is a serving.

It should be one slice equals a serving. But it may depend on size and thickness too (if you're slicing it yourself). But as far as store-bought goes, it's one slice.

Does anyone know if the list at the top of the thread is still accurate/complete?

it's all about the labels... triscuits are 100% whole grain, wheat thins are not. Sure do love wheat thins though :( don't have them

The list of foods that we can eat in P2 is much bigger than P1, my question is how much can I eat in a day? Can I eat 1 fruit serving, 1 bread serving and 1 rice serving all in a day? Or is this too much? How should I combine the different food choices in any day?
1 of one of those a day for a week basically. If you have a grain serving, that's it for the day the first week. Then add a fruit the 2nd week and so on. Eventually you'll be at 2-3 of each per day. As for combining, don't combine 2 servings of anything in one meal (like having 2 grain servings at once). It's a temptation, I know. So it would be 1 fr. and one grain if you wish to have them at the same meal. Sometimes a pc. of fruit might be your snack, or fr. fruit added to yogurt for snack, so you don't have it with the main meal too. You'll get the hang of it. GOOD LUCK!! :):)

To the best of my limited knowledge, it is. It matches the list in my book, but my book was published in '05 so I guess that's not a very good answer. The only thing that I don't agree with is pumpkin being on the list. I thought it was a "rarely" food even in Ph. 2.
Anyone? Is that true? I don't want to misrepresent info.

To African queen: No problem! It's a good question. Most of the time, a serving suggestion on a package is about right, but checking here first is ALWAYS a good idea.

I have found the opposite to be true about serving suggestions on packages. Isn't the serving suggestion for most breads 2 slices? We can only have one (unless 2 slices happens to total 30 grams), and 1/2 ww English muffins. For cereals, it's almost always less than the serving size suggested on the label. In fact serving size suggested is usually double the amount of the serving size we are allowed.

REALLY???? OH CRAP!
Actually, I haven't had grains yet on the beach, but my bread always said 1 slice. I used to read labels all the time. Bagels probably are a whole bagel/serving, but only half for SB. I don't know. I'm was not a huge grain eater. Mostly cereal, but not a lot of the other stuff. Guess I should watch my mouth!

An FDA food pyramid serving of grains is 1 oz. or about 30 gms regardless of what the package serving size says. You can take any package of grains and determine the appropriate serving size. Some full size bagels might be as large as 4 servings of grains actually, i.e. nearly 120 gms in a single bagel.

Thanks LM, Zynr and redroxo. this has all been very helpful. I was secretly hoping that a serving would be 2 slices but I think that was wishful thinking on my part

It would be if you could find a slice that weighs 15 gms. each! Most breads I used to look at seemed to run in the 35-45 gm range. Very few are actually small enough to meet the 30 gm recommendation, but I never really worried about the overages either.
