Good morning, All!

Ugh, my schedule has just been ridiculous... I need to get a job. I have just been getting lost either on the computer or in a magazine, and my structured meal times go right out the window. I haven't been eating OR working out enough, but that is stopping today!

I ate a good breakfast, and we're doing a long workout tomorrow morning (3.25 miles! My 5k is a week from Sunday!). I am not going to forget to eat lunch today! That just leads to late afternoon trouble, and I'm not having it any more!

I hope you are all well, and I hope you're excited about the weekend!

Ok So I have a real incentive now. My job just announced today that they are going to be conducting a “Build a Better You” Challenge. Over 12 weeks starting February 14, join a team of 5 to 11 of your colleagues to compete in up to three divisions: 1. physical exercise (minutes of exercise a min of 2 ½ hours a week), 2. pedometer steps (number of steps running or walking a min of 5,714 steps a day), and 3. weight loss (percentage of weight lost a min of 3% of your starting body weight). The Build a Better You Fitness Challenge website will help you form teams — locally or virtually — and record your progress. Even if you chose not to compete as part of a team, you can still take the challenge as an individual and use the website to track your progress. My department has already formed a team, I’m soooo excited! I wish it started this Monday and I didn’t have to wait a few weeks.

B: 2 eggs and 8 oz V8 juice
S1: 8 oz Skim Milk
L: Chicken Breast Sandwich from Subway (Chicken Breast, 1 piece of cheese, spinach, bell pepper and 2 slices of cucumber) and then I had a salad with it instead of eating the chips that I wanted.
W: 96oz – working on my next 46oz bottle

This fitness challenge sounds great! I actually talked to my boss about doing something like this in our office and she told me to look into it. The only thing I could find in my area was a 100 day fitness challenge, which started in January.

Can you give me the link to this challenge? I'd like to take a look at it.

Thanks!

Well it's Saturday and I am checking in....today was a good day - I didn't get to the gym but I did a lot of walking today!! We spent our day cleaning the house and then shopping....costco, wal-mart..... :?

I have to work tomorrow - but it kind of keeps me in check through the week-end.....I can't really do much when I have to be up at 5am.....yuck!! :(

Weigh in day at work is Tuesday - another good motivator to stay on track!!

We have gotten really quiet....hopefully it's just because it's the week-end...

Have a great evening everyone - see you tomorrow!!! :D

Ok, so it’s time I came clean! I am no longer on the beach :o( I just couldn’t seem to follow and stick to the program. I was thinking about checking in with you guys from time to time. I’m down to 159.4 (woohoo) I’ve been hitting the gym and getting my walks in. At least 10,000 steps a day – whew!

Snow: If you want send me your email in a private message and I’ll send you some emails that might be helpful I send them out weekly.

Queen: LOL – awesome job! I’m just hoping to get married before the end of next year.

Trianggal: the website that we use was created by our company just for us, so you wouldn’t be about to log into it. HOWEVER, you could still set the goals and track them yourselves if your company isn’t willing to pay to create a whole website (which is expensive). We work off the honor system. Also check with Snow to see how she is doing their challenge.

Happy Tuesday all!

Had a lovely weekend with my BF, unfortunately the diet and exercise were lacking but I am back and ready to go! Even exercised last night to kick off the week right. Plan on getting in a good jog around that 4 mile park tonight too, really need to get more training in for the half marathon.

Also, I think I have decided to put of the grains for a while, I lose better without them.

FYI - It is not fun to go from eating 1600 cals a day for a month to eating close to 1600 in ONE meal 3 times a day - tummies do not like that.

Foxy: Congrats on the loss and yes, definitely check in!!!

I hope you all are having a good week!

Hey everyone,

I started on Jan 3rd also and had a small group that checked in with each other on the journals, but we're down to 3 and none of us is checking in very regularly. This last month I've been slipping slowly from the beach (mostly with sugar cheats--durn Valentine's candy!) and have never managed to get on board with exercise at all. I think that joining with another more active-posting group might really help me with the encouragement to stay on track and not give into temptation to throw this WOE away entirely! Do you have "room" for one more member?

Thanks!

Hey there snowbunny -

We have been slacking on here! I guess I really haven't wanted to post until I actually needed to update my signature line's current weight....but I don't need too :( I am still at 152 this past Saturday which isn't bad...I mean, it is still 8.5 lbs down since we started on the 3rd. But I was hoping to get over the initial hump and have my loss jumpstarted again. I think the problem is that my body is getting pretty comfortable at this weight and it doesn't want to budge. So I am implementing a couple other tactics to see if I can break loose of the 150s.

1. Exercising more than my ONE time a week:
Mon - 30 min interval training
Tues - Barrys Bootcamp/upper
Weds - 1 hr of Advanced Hip Hop
Thurs - 30 min interval training
Fri - OFF
Sat - 30 min interval training
Sun - Barry's bootcamp/lower
2. Peanut butter is cut, add 1/2 cup nuts/dried fruit instead
3. SB isn't about tracking calories, but I am going to...the cheeses and such can add up, so I am going to keep it around 1600/day (+200 more if I work out) and I'll track it on myfitnesspal.com
4. Restrict dairy

Some of these rules I am taking from the "Paleo" or caveman diet where you eat only what you can pick or kill....so I am cutting back on dairy/beans/peanut butter (peanuts are considered a legume)/potatoes

Wish me luck - I gotta get to the 140s by the time bathing suit season hits in Ohio!

Snow: I'm right here!!!!

Hey everyone! Well i changed my WOE and I'm down to 157.4 from 165.8 (WooHoo!!!!). I've been exercising a lot more and loving it! How is everyone else doing? I didn't do very good at all this past weekend (celebrated St. Patrick's Day). This weekend is my birthday weekend so i know i'm not going to be good this weekend either :(

Welcome Lissa!

I'm here! I'm here!

THe week after I went to visit my BF I was having a hard time + TOM and the diet went down the drain but I still maintained some sort of exercise then last week wasn't the best, kind of slacked on both exercise and food.

I am determined to make this week a good one! I have that half marathon coming up in May, I absolutely have to be in shape for it. My marathon buddy is doing great and lost a pant size and hearing that yesterday really got my motivation going again - that and the fact that I saw some pictures from over the weekend and I look BIG. Not fun.

I really need to print out the SBD meal plan and follow it more closely, I also need to lay off the wine for a week and when I bring it back stop after 1 glass.

Got in a great workout yesterday, 30 minutes of a cardio video and 20 minutes of upper body strength training, my back and chest are sore today but it feels great!

Hi, Everybody!

I know... I've been MIA, HOWEVER, I'm still on the beach! I did my 5k on March 13th, and I began 10k training last week for a local race in June (we decided to skip the San Diego weekend since we have a wedding to pay for now!). For those of you doing any sort of walking/running, the Nike+ app is AWESOME! It's really great to track all of my progress there and see how my times are getting faster and my runs are getting longer!

I'm sorry that I haven't checked in... I seriously jumped right into wedding mode, and I just couldn't think about anything else! We have booked and deposited our wedding (May 19. 2012 in Mexico!), so I've really kind of come down from that frenzy.

I'm also right on the cusp of getting the most perfect job for me! They emailed me today to tell me that they will be making me an offer once they check out my references, so woo hoo! I'll finally feel productive in life again!

In any event, I'm keeping up with my veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains, and I'm working out like a fiend! I had this weird hiccup when I first got engaged and began looking at wedding dresses. I have narrowed it down to 3, and my mom is coming to visit in May to make the final decision. The weird part is that for some reason, I started thinking, "Well, I already look fantastic in these dresses! I don't need to do a lot of work!" I started skipping training workouts, and I was off the veggie wagon. That lasted for about a week before I was like, "What is the matter with you?! Sure, those dresses look good now, but imagine how much BETTER they'll be down the line?!" It really renewed by desire to complete my running goals and to eat my veggies!

I hope you are all doing well!

Queen - So glad you are back and that you have been doing well! Mexico sounds like a wonderful place for a wedding, how exciting!!! Also, congrats on completing the 5k!

So, yesterday was very good eating and exercise-wise, very clean. I go in some major lower body strength training and I know my behind is going to be killing me tomorrow (takes 2 days for me to really feel the effects of a good workout). Today is going to be my cardio only day, going to walk/ jog 4 miles around a local park - if the rain stays away. My marathon buddy and I are going to go for 8 miles this saturday in preparations for the marathon, should take us about 2 hours since at this point we are focusing more on endurance and not worrying about time.

Ooooo, also, I have discovered that I LOVE unsweetened almond milk AND it only has 35 calories per 1 cup! MMmmmMMMM! Having some right now in my FiberOne Original cereal with strawberries, crushed almonds and 1 packet of Truvia. :D
I know I said I'd stay away from grains but oh well, I guess not - ha ha. I have actually had very good luck with Original FiberOne in the past so I am not worried about it.

I hope you all have a good Tuesday!!!
