I believe it means a lb of extra lean beef is 96% fat free and has 4% fat, a lb of lean beef is 92% fat free and has 8% fat, and a lb of sirloin is 90% fat free and has 10% fat. :)

[moderator edited out complete food list which seemed overly redundant and lengthy. Food list is already available on Page 1 of this thread]

meat substitutes

Postby feedyoureye » Mon Jan 22, 2007 4:28 am

FYI Seiten is wheat gluten based, not soy based. Many meat substitutes may also contain gluten.
Don't forget to leave room for something better to happen than you could possibly imagine!

Postby Sqwerl5 » Thu Feb 15, 2007 6:16 pm

I eat yogurt alot and about to go on phase 1 again...does the plain yogurt have to be sugar free too or just fat free?

Fat-free-- it won't be sugar-free because plain yogurt still contains the low GI milk sugars. We want those. The right kind will have about 12-18g of sugar per cup, without any sugar in the ingredient list.
My FAQ-- food lists, portion guidelines, etc.

Milk Allowed or Not in Phase 1?

Postby kimd » Mon Mar 12, 2007 12:12 am

Ok, so the book says to avoid all dairy in phase 1 including milk low-fat & fat-free. Now the list posted here says you can have 2 cups milk a day?
I don't understand.
Thanks.

Earlier on in this thread there was a list of 'good' dressings. It said:

The above Good dressings range from 10-16 g of total fat, with no more than 2½ g of saturated fat and an emphasis on good fats.

Is that total fat per serving or per 100g or something else? Also is that 2.5g sat fat per serving or per 100g?
