caffeinated coffees are fine too. Suggested limit is up to 2 cups a day. Latte's are fine if made with nonfat or 1% milk and you keep the total milk intake under the 2 cup limit as well. Many folks seem to like to add the sugar free flavored syrups as well.

i read that you can use olive oil and canola oil. can i use these oils for pan-grilling or stir-frying some of the foods for P1? like for example having stir-fry beef sirloin with broccoli and using canola oil. or having a sunny-side fried egg using canola oil? thanks again!

Yup! It's generally recommended to get some good fats into each major meal. It's heart healthy and helps you feel fuller longer. (satiety). Just monitor quantities as oils are calorie dense and you can overdo it as well.

I just got started on this diet Sunday, at 208lbs, and it has only been 4 days, and I'm already down to 204 (if my scale is to be trusted). I haven't lost weight this quick since I was lifting weights in high school. SBD really works! Thanks for the updated list. I love tomatos, and seeing them on the updated P1 list makes me very happy.

Can you tell me if carrots are allowed on Phase 1? These were my staple snacks on Weight Watchers and I want to be sure I am following the SB diet as required. Thanks.

Sorry... carrots are the only veggie you can't have in P1 but can have in P2. Try cut up cucumbers, bell peppers and celery sticks instead.

I'm bumping this for newbies like myself. I read each post and found a LOT of information that was helpful! I realize there's a link to it in a stickie, but some people don't seem to read those!

only some?

We often joke the one way to guarantee that something will never be read is to make it a sticky!

Glad you are exploring them and learning along the way!

Oh dear, i found this page very helpful, but i am wondering does 2 TBS of peanut butter per day = 2 teaspoons or 2 tablespoons? cause that makes a huge difference.
Also, what is the limit for cheese? Is non-fat cottage cheese allowed? but they have starch inside it as an ingredient though.
sorry for such a silly question but i hope to get a reply, thanks.

the serving for pb is 2 tablespoons
not exactly sure what you would want to limit yourself to as far as cheese goes (someone else may have a number) but it is somewhat considered unlimited, but you just gotta be careful b/c cheese is fairly high in calories, so try not to go overboard. start with the serving size (usually 1 oz.)
nonfat cottage cheese is fine. low-fat is fine too. yes, starch is in the ingredient, it's very little though.
