Extra lean -- Added

Looks fine to me! ;) Really they just wanted to clean up the various names and percentages so they deleted the old categories and replaced/added the new ones. Anything 90% lean or better should be fine. Also any recipe you are using cooked ground beef in, you can probably save a little money and buy regular, cook it all up first, and then strain and rinse it to get rid of the extra fat.

In case some of these questions about added and deleted foods don't make sense, it's because I cleaned up the food list and got rid of the extraneous info. It has been long enough now since the edits were made that it isn't necessary anymore, and I think it was confusing people.

I also made sure that the food list matched up with what is in Supercharged and found some omissions that are now included.

Ken's Italian Dressing and Marinade

Postby scarlett68 » Fri Feb 03, 2012 3:21 am

The only dressing I have ever really liked Ken's Italian Dressing and Marinade. I hope it's OK because I don't like anything else. Here's the nutritional info and ingredients. Is it OK - doesn't have to be Phase I. I can live without it if necessary for 2 weeks but hope I can use in Phase 2

Looks OK to me. Be aware that some people are sensitive to MSG and it's not an ideal ingredient for anyone.

Thanks Magna, that makes me :D . I'll still be able to enjoy salads. Funny how this diet permits some things you wouldn't expect.

No, not really-- it's not even a great choice for p2. It's pure sugar.

Agave is similar but lower glycemic and is on the allowed list. You could try that.

So, what happens if I have been using everyone and then? Should I start Phase 1 over?

I've only used it about 3 times, and it was sparingly.

Ok, i will definitely try Agave Nectar. THANKS!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. There aren't too many things that require starting p1 over in my opinion. Just move forward!

Click the "FAQ" link in Kimboroni's post. That takes you to the general FAQ page. There are links on that page to the phase 1 "foods to enjoy" list and the phase 2 "foods to add" list. (Everything that's on the list for phase 1 is also on the list for phase 2, but there are some additional foods you can and should add in phase 2.)

Together, those two lists are the food list for phase 2.

Some if not all of them have grain added (brown rice, oats, etc.), which is OK in phase 2 but not phase 1. Boca Burgers are OK in phase 1, though.
