IIt's day 6

My World's Biggest Loser Yoga video finnally came in yesterday, so I started my morning with it. Every muscle in my body is shaking from the workout. I think this will certainly help with some toning up of the muffin top! Hubby just observed, but I think he will join tom. The Red Curry Soup we had last night was amazing. We are trying the Halibut in a Garlic Cilantro marinade tonight, we are using Rockfish instead of the halibut. Looks delish. One thing we do get on the island here is lots of fresh fish so we stocked up on a few last night. Am going to pair it up with the marinated pepper and olives salad using the feta instead of the parmesan cheese. Will likely get a nice walk in this afternoon after I get a few errands done.

I think so. I have a PH1 recipe that calls for baking soda.

Is it possible that I can loose only 2lbs, yet the shape of my body--stomach in particular--change already? I wore a shirt today that I haven't been able to wear for months.....either my eyes were deceiving me and I looked like a can of busted biscuits wearing a shirt, or my shape is already beginning to change. I sure wish I could find my measuring tape so I could get my new measurements.....darn kids!

Yes, they're fine in any phase.

Yesterday's menu:
B: mock French toast
sauteed mushrooms
coffee with NF milk and Splenda

S: celery with natural PB
coffee with NF milk and Splenda

L: Peruvian beans with chicken and sausage
oven-roasted romano beans
oven-roasted brussels sprouts

S: celery with natural PB
coffee with NF milk and Splenda

D: broiled tofu with mushrooms
broiled tomato

S: another mock French toast - this time made with silken tofu instead of cottage cheese. Turned out pretty fluffy. Good topped with NF Greek yogurt.

For anyone who hasn't read my earlier menus, Peruvian beans are a mild light-colored dried bean. Romano beans are basically like green beans, except that they're broader.

Definitely possible. I find when I'm eating tons of carbs and crap, my stomach protrudes out like I'm early stages of pregnancy. After a few days of SBD, it goes flat (well I like to think flat) right away and everything fits more comfortably. It's quite amazing how it works and very motivating.

I too have kids that take things... frustrating!!

YAY! That's good to know. I'm getting quite discouraged that I've only lost...so far 1.5-2lbs. I know my eating has been hit or miss, but it's all been SB friendly foods....I'm going to keep things up, but DANG!

Last night I made a salad off of Kaylan's blog (THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN FOR THE LINK) that had turkey pepperoni, olives, pereroncini (except we used banana peppers), mozarella cheese, marinaded olives, etc. MAN was it good! That will be my go-to lunch salad.

Alright today's menu....and it's NOON already. I got to sleep in today so am being lazy!

B - Canadian bacon, yogurt, cherry tomatoes
S - Cheese stick
L - Salad like last night's dinner
S - handful of peanuts
D - CHILI....already simmering
S - SF chocolate milk

OH, also I've been terrible about my water consumption. Plan on significantly upping that beginning today too!

Have a good day all!!!

We had a Phase 2 day today - but I have our Phase 1 menu set up, and my husband went grocery shopping today to get everything we needed to start tomorrow.

Today:
Brunch - Pancakes (from the Quick & Easy cookbook - I think they were originally waffles, but we have always used them for pancakes)
Snack - nuts
Dinner - Salmon Scramble (also Q & E) plus salad with lowfat dressing

You can tell we got up really late today  We have really been paying much better attention to what we're eating, which is a great start.

Beginning Phase 1 tomorrow:

Breakfast: Boiled egg, 1 oz cheese, V8
Snack: hummus, red pepper, cucumber
Lunch: Chock full of veggies chili (SB supercharged), salad
Snack: cashews
Dinner: Lentil & Kale Stew (Q & E also), Green Beans
Dessert: 1 tbsp unsweetened chocolate chips

It's day 8

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I must confess that while I stuck to my yoga workouts, walking and my SBD foods, I did indulge in some wine over the weekend. More determined today to stay the course for the week and add some extra workouts to make up. Having an Asian inspired red snapper tonight with some spicy cole slaw. Veggie packed pea soup for lunch. Have an awesome week everyone!

Yesterday's menu:
B: pan-fried tomato
NF cottage cheese
black coffee

S: celery and snap peas with ranch dressing
LF cheese stick

L: split pea soup with ham
oven-roasted brussels sprouts
oven-roasted green beans
glass of NF milk

D: stir-fried ginger-soy tofu with mushrooms and peppers
broiled tomato with a little LF mozzarella

S: mock French toast with natural PB and a little agave
a few cocoa roasted almonds
NSA hot chocolate

Had the mock French toast (made with silken tofu instead of ricotta) for dessert because I felt like I needed more protein. The natural peanut on it butter was really good. Emerald Nuts makes cocoa roasted almonds that's artificially sweetened, which I like. They're kind of expensive, though, and easy to over-eat, so I don't buy them often.

Today will be my last day of the limited phase 1. I have been doing this after a few weeks of very chaotic holiday eating, including a lot of off-plan foods. I'll be easing back into phase 2 but not doing the usual slower transition.

Hey there!

on day 8 right now and its going well. This is def gonna be a tricky week for me because I am on vacation, so just gonna concentrate on doing spring cleaning and catch up on paperwork so i dont get bored and tempted!

Here's what i had so far today
bf - two eggs sunny side up, two pieced turkey bacon, tea w/skim milk
snack - sf fudgesicle
lunch - salad w sknless chkn, low fat ham and fat free cheese /greek olive oil dressing
snack-south beach cheesecake bites
dinner-steamed broccoli/low fat turkey sausage/water

i really have to watch my water intake though....getting lots of fluids , just not the h20 kind.....mostly tea, coffee, diet cola...usually get 3 big glasses of water in, but o know its not enough. maybe i should take one of those water camels servicemen have as a constant reminder to drink up! lol

have a great day ya'll!

A couple of things I notice - you need some vegetables at breakfast, and you need some kind of substantial snack in the morning. A SF fudgsicle is OK to have, but you need some substantial food too. (I'm not sure with the cheesecake bites are - are they from a recipe here?) Be sure you're eating at least 4 1/2 cups of vegetables daily. You'll feel a lot better and have more success that way. :)

yes...the cheesecake bites is actually sb cheesecake just divided up into little muffin liners when you bake em- i am a big cheesecake fan and it helps me keep me from going into a frenzy!cant remember if the recipe was her or not, but it is definetly ph1 approved.
You are right about the breakfast veggies.I often have omelets with onions, tomatoes and ham but like to change it up daily, so am thinking about the v8 juice (but really hate the "tomatoey"kind.Am thinking trying out the fruity kind perhaps instead on those days i dont have breakfast veggies). Also usually get in some happy cow and celery for my snacks but dont want to overdo it with the cheese)
i wish i could think of other veggies i actually like as a side(besides salad makings of course!)...i usually eat mostly steamed broccoli and cauliflower...but that is going to get old soon.

let day 10 begin! :)

It's day 9

In addition to a 5 km walk, did the yoga/pilates ab workout last night ahhh! not the time to tickle me.. some tender spots. Made the Asian Cole Slaw from Kalyn's Website yesterday and it was very yummy, added some green onion and cilantro to it. Made lots and have some for leftovers for lunch. For Magna, try Kalyn's website for some ideas on veggies, we had the marinated peppers and gabanzo beans on Saturday and it was also a hit and most of her recipes make lots, so you can have leftovers the next day for a snack. We are trying the Thai Turkey Meatball Lettuce Wraps tonight, served with a cucumber and cilantro relish. She also has a five favourite phase one soups and they have lots of veggies and nutrients in them so can esily be used for a quick snack instead of the veggies and cheese. My favourite is the Turkey Sausage, Roasted Peppers and Lentils. So delicious! I can't get the turkey sausage here so I make my own patties with the ground turkey:

Turkey Sausage Patties: Makes 8 patties
I lb lean ground turkey
1/2 tsp Italian seasonings
1/2 tsp ground ginger
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp pepper
dash of cayenne
oil for frying

Optional: For a breakfast type sausage omit the italian seasonings and add 2 pks splenda and 1 tsp maple flavouring.
