Very Confused

Postby lola1 » Fri Jun 16, 2017 12:14 pm

So I'm in Phase One, and I'm very confused about if these exact meals needs to be followed to a T as found in the book - the breakfast, lunch, and dinner for Day One, Day Two, Day Three, etc. Also the portion size. If we CAN intermix, how do we know what can go with each other that day - that you're not eating too much of something. Very confused, especially with how you substitute out all of these other Phase One recipes I'm finding in other books, as well as any other "allowed" foods I can supplement in if we're still hungry.

Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi and welcome!

You don't have to follow the meals in the books - they are just examples. Check out the phase 1 FAQ page.

Two links on that page that should answer your questions are the "Phase 1 foods to enjoy" list, and the "How to adapt your meal plan template" one.

The two of them together give you guidance about what foods to eat, and how much. You can choose whatever foods you like from the list.

Hi Lola1. Welcome to the SBD message board.

My wife and I have been eating according to the SBD for a few months, and really enjoy it. The first week or two were challenging for me because I was so accustomed to eating foods that were high in sugar, but once I got past that stage, I found it quite easy to eat nutritious foods. I've lost 28 pounds since March 13th, but the change that pleases me most is a dramatic improvement in my blood chemistry. The SBD has worked great for me, and I'm confident it will work for you too.

I'm looking forward to reading about your progress.
