I just wanted to add my 2 cents on WW vs SBD. I agree with everything that has been said. I did WW and was doing the exact same thing. Saving points for junk. It didn't teach me how to eat, just how to count points. SBD has been great! I am on dy 9 of Phase 1 and am down 11 lbs! The best part was that I had already lost 35 lbs before I started phase 1. I was stuck in a plateau and this helped me beat my way through it. I am now just 16 lbs away from my goal!

This weekend was hard with a few cravings. My friend and I went and took her daughters to McDonalds for a hot fudge sundae (my VERY favorite!) and I of course didn't have any, but that dang sundae haunted my thoughts all weekend! But today is a new day and I am done thinking negative! Here's to another great week!

Good luck everyone!

WTG passing up on that sundae! I was faced with a challenge of my own yesterday and I survived. Mine was peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. (sorry for the food porn!!) lol

I think WW's is a great program and it really works for a lot of people but for me personally I needed a change. It just gave me too much freedom.

I think I'm unable to lose any more weight at this point. I don't understand it. I don't think I've lost anything yet and today is day 5 for me. I had bread yesterday but I'm thinking body is happy right where it is. I'm changing my goals and objectives from getting super skinny to getting super healthy! I figure with this great way of eating and all the exercise I have to be doing something right.

Elaine, I'm 5'4" and I would be THRILLED to weigh 130 lbs.!! I actually went from 238 to 118 on WW but 118 was too low to maintain without starvation. This time I'm aiming for between 130-148 but I really just want my body to figure out what's best.

Onegoodwoman, I agree. I think I've finally come to grips with the fact that I'm not 19 yrs old anymore and I'm never going to weigh 115 pds again. My body seems to like this weight and as long as I can keep fitting into my clothes, I'm going to go with the flow.

Congratulations losing 100 pds! I know you can get to where you want to be following this plan. Good luck!

sugar

Postby nikibunny » Mon Jul 28, 2008 11:08 pm

i went through a sugar [b]
withdrawl when i first started week 1 with sever headaches. i kept on it, took tylenol :D and made it. i am on week 4 starting today and i am still on a modified phase 1. not quite phase 2 not strict phase 1. i eat all phase one but had a sandwhich today with chicken on 2 pieces of wheat bread. i will not have another piece of bread until thursday. i have had no bread, pasta, crackers, carbs really for 3 weeks. no sugar either.
i guess i have lost around 10-12 pounds but no idea because i got weighed week 1 and forgot to buy a scale. will do that this weekend!!
my pants are fitting wierd. baggy in lower stomach and upper leg area.. but waist si still same i think.
i have concentrated more on the diet side of eating and what and what not to than what i weight. i have no idea!! i would rather concentrate on doing it right than the 2 pounds i might have lost right now.
it has been a struggle
i was 185 4 weeks ago. this weekend i will buy a scale to see.. i am not so worried with pounds as my clothing size. i was a size 16 last august and now i am a size 14 some places loose.

i did WW and starved. you can get down low but you have to starve to do it. that is nothing to maintain for a life. i like SB because you diet to loose weight but dont starve. that is important to me

Niki,
Find yourself a good multi-vitamin that should help with the cravings, they will go away as your body adjusts
if your sugar cravings get to be to much think fruit. Oranges, cantilope, watermellon, any fruit with a lot
of water in it. That shouldn't mess with your diet too much. :D

So you dragged up a 4 year old thread to suggest that someone on p1 eat fruit?

My BFF and I are on day 9 of SBD Phase 1. Neither she or I have had any cravings thus far. We're enjoying the abundance of food on this plan. We're following it to the "T" and love the jello at lunch and the ricotta desserts after dinner! My BFF lost 7 lbs the first week, and I lost 10 lbs and it almost seemed effortless! :D

i will agree with everyone about weight watcher's .i lost 50 lbs in the 80's ,and i quit for a while ,then they started the points and i have not ever liked it .but i feel i am hooked . when i start doing sb i have point's on the brain ,i guess i am brain washed by ww . lol,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, at least on sb you can eat any time you want ,when i did it 7 yrs ago ,i never got hungry .but i stay hungry on ww .........i think i am burnt out on that program. i believe i can do this if i have enough support from people that are doing it ,that makes it more fun to talk to each other and get new idea's from each other ,so i hope to hear from someone ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i am getting back on tomorrow......... :D
