Postby donnas47 on Tue Nov 09, 2004 2:15 pm

I bought South Beach Diet Good Fats/Good Carbs Guide
for $6.00 at Target (inc tax). I use it along with this site for anything I have needed so far.

True, but I suspect the site may get some support $ back from purchasing through that link.

How many books are there?

Postby wrknfool on Thu Dec 30, 2004 12:47 am

Are we supposed to buy all 3 books?
If not...then what is the difference?

The blue book outlines the diet, the why, how it works, etc. Has about 100 pgs of recipes. The green book is just a list of food and whether or not it is approved on SBD. The orange book is just recipes. Buy which ever ones you think you want. The blue book is actually fascinating reading and I don't find diet information exciting. The SBD recipes are pretty good so I'd guess the orange book would be nice. I don't have that one yet. The green book may be handy for folks that want to walk down a store isle and know if something is ok or not. It was given to us but aside from a first glance through, I've never used it.

books

Postby LisaSB on Fri Mar 04, 2005 5:57 am

I just ordered the original book and the cookbook from Amazon.com on Sunday. They have a deal on their site where you get $30 off your first purchase if you sign up for their credit card. My entire order (with free shipping) came to a whopping $1.32!!! I just got the books today (Thursday) and I'm thrilled. The foods in this diet are a lot more expensive than the things I'm used to eating so any bit of savings will help me. This website has been a lifesaver too. I went Sunday-Wednesday without any milk and I was so happy to find the list of updates on this site that said I can have low fat milk once or twice a day. I can tell this site will be a wonderful way to keep focused and encouraged.

Found my books at Walmart

Postby KandyWolf on Thu Jul 07, 2005 9:46 am

The links probably do help out the site, so it is great to support the site.

However I found mine at Walmart. (that was before I found this site!)
Got all 3 at Walmart! Looked on Amazon, but couldnt wait for Amazon! I got the first 2 books (the SBD Book and the Good Carbs Good fats book) at Walmart for $5.88 each and the cookbook for $14.88. They are definately worth buying! Especially the cookbook! Alot of really great recipes, including KETCHUP!!! (Something I can not live without, and almost didnt do SBD because of it! LOL!) This is coming form the newbie here.

Go to Amazon definitely! I bought the diet book and the cookbook for under $10 and that was with shipping included! The library is a great idea, but this diet is very popular and sometimes hard to find!
