Just checking in to see how you all are doing!

I was very proud of myself and drank more water this past weekend then I have in the past. I didn't follow SB completely this weekend, but I don't think I did too bad.

Hope you both are doing well.

Talk to you soon!

Hey Steph!

I've done great this week and hit both my goals!

Monday: bowling.
Tuesday: 45 min. on treadmill.
Wednesday: 90 min. yoga.
Thursday: 60 min. elliptical.
Friday: 60 min. elliptical.
Saturday: Break day. Did do miracle ball exercises.
Sunday: 90 min. yoga, plus will do miracle ball in a bit.

Got this miracle ball thing at Costco. They are two small balls that come with a small book of exercises that are designed to relieve pain in various spots around your body. Did the back exercises last night, and they did seem to really help my lower back. Going to try either hips/legs or neck/shoulders tonight (both are tight!).

This is the website for the method/product: http://www.elainepetrone.com/.

I was off the beach yesterday too. We all need those days. For me, the bratwurst (made locally and grilled at a fantastic german/scandanavian meat market/deli) was TOTALLY worth it!!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Way to go CJ!!!

I'm exhausted just reading all the exercise you've done

That is terrific, great job!

I'm slowly getting myself back on track with exercising, it's a slow process but I'm getting there. :?

WOW cj, I think you did my share of exercise with all that! hahaha! way to go! I am like steph, trying to get back to exercise!
I am feeling much better, still tired but not achey anymore. My eating has been terrible and I really don't know how I lost a couple of pounds, I hope it is not muscle because of my lack of activity, but I will get back to my exercise this week as one of my goals: at least 3x exercise and second goal will be to drink all my water, that means at least 60oz a day. It sounds easy but for me it is a real challenge.
OK, I will initiate the thread to post your results of week #2, check it out!

Believe me, I know fatigue and exhaustion. I spent months living it this year... from March to September. I was constantly tired and achy, and I don't think I did a day of exercise in there! I had to ease my way back in too! I love being active, though... my skin is better, I have fewer migraines, and endorphins are a good thing! Sometimes it is such a chore to drag myself to the gym (though, I have weights and videos at home too), so I try to stay prepared by packing gym clothes any day I plan on working out... no chance to let the couch suck me in! Plus, I know that I'll get the results I want that much faster... it's a great motivator! On SBD, I tend to plateau for 2-4 weeks, then I'll get a big burst of loss. Exercise helps me to see smaller changes... maybe just pants fitting differently... and it's enough to keep me on track. This was one of my burst weeks... down 2.6 lbs. and 4.25 total inches overall (including, bizarrely, a 1 inch GAIN in my bust line. go figure!). Getting back in the game is awesome, and you should both be proud... every little bit counts!

My goals for this week include:
1. 150 minutes of cardio (Mon-Sun)
2. Doing my miracle ball and breathing exercises at least 4 days this week.

I'm pretty good about water, and I've got fruit down! I don't like to set weight loss goals... I retain and then shed water like crazy, and, as I mentioned above, I tend to plateau. So, I don't want to set goals where I have no control over their outcome. I have mini goals for my weight... I'm at 160.8 now, and would like to be at 158 (the weight at the high end of the "normal" BMI range for my height) by the end of the month. I'd love to be down to 150 by New Years, but with the holidays, it's possible, but not necessarily likely, you know?

Have a great week, everyone!

You just amaze me CJ! Way to go, I have to agree with Maralian.

I'm still trying to fight to get myself to exercise. I did a 30 min on Monday and felt great, but Tues and Wed I was not feeling well at all, so needless to say no exercise. Tonight I'm feeling better but figured I would give myself one more day of rest. I will do about an hour tomorrow and then I have lots of laundry and ironing to do, which after each load I will fold and walk them upstairs as a form of exercise.

I'm also planning to get some in on Sat and Sun, so at least I will have at least 3 days in :?

Hope you both have a great week!

Ive done SB before at the age of 17 in 2006. It worked wonders for me. At the time I was in high school and working full time so i barely had anytime to prepare anything to eat. My day was pretty regulated. Up by 6 in bed by 11. I went to school for 4 hours (my senior year( then went to work for 1. I would eat either before or as soon as i arrived at school, then i would have lunch on my way from school to work, then dinner on my break at work. As i remember it the results were great. I remember living off of crystal light as a beverage as well as water (not as often as i should i can admit but more than most who live off of juice and soda). My food consisted of subway, mcdonalds and wendys salads, because i was always on the run. Now i fast forward 3 years later. I am 21 years old, and i am reattempting the south beach diet. I have cut out red meat (personal choice) and alcohol entirely from my diet. I rarely eat fish (im not a fish person), the only fried food i may eat is a scrambled egg, which i am pretty sick of. I eat an abundance of veggies (omitting carbohydrates of course) , beans, and lean cuts of chicken, all baked, grilled, or roasted I snack on a couple nuts here and there, i am back to drinking crystal light, and i will have a diet soda on occasion but very rarely. I am frustrated already because i started on Nov the 2nd and it is now the 20th, and i have yet to drop a pound. I have faith in this diet because i know it has worked for me before, but am driving my self nuts trying to remember when i started to see some results back in 2006. I do remember the weight loss creeping up on me like a surprise, but it makes my 3rd week officially on monday, and i refuse to give up on it because of all the time and money i have invested to keep me from cheating. The last time i did this diet i didnt lift a finger to work out, and i lost about 15 pounds. This time around i am in my gym's cardio and pilates class at least 2-3 times a week and still NOTHING!!! I thought at least working out would act as some sort of a catalyst towards losing some weight as well as toning. I can honestly say that yes my body is getting stronger physically, just from the working out not the diet, and i can even see some definition in my arms and legs, but my belly remains the same, and it is my worst appendage. The only difference i can probably say is I am not in school at the moment and am currently unemployed. Iam home most of the time and am constantly lying down. I dont fall asleep until 6am almost every night and dont wake up until 2:30pm in the afternoon. It isnt by choice. I cant for the life of me fall asleep at night. I head to my workout class sometime in the evening. Maybe because of my sluggish lifestyle my results are taking much longer. Although i eat breakfast lunch and dinner late, i do only eat 3 meals a day. I havent touch a carb in almost three weeks, the closest ive come was by eating flax bread (which i believe is allowed in the first phase) i dont know but if i dont see results by the end of the month, i think i'll start pulling my hair out! If some one could give me a shread of hope, it would give me the drive to stick it out. (i dont remember it being this hard the first time i did this!!!)

Chrissy--

So sorry this is a struggle for you this time! Do remember to stay focused on the positive... you are seeing important changes in your body, which is good! One thing that would be helpful to know would be your starting weight and your goal weight.

I'm concerned that you keep referring to "carbs." This isn't a low carb diet, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say you're eating a ton of veggies but avoiding carbs. Also, if you're in your third week, you should have introduced a grain, and possibly a fruit at this point. It is possible that, with the amount of working out you're doing (depending on the intensity), you're not getting enough food.

As for your insomnia, it does sound like you're getting close to 8 hours of sleep every 24 hour period, but just not in a normal cycle. Do you believe that stress is playing a role in your inability to go to sleep at night? If you're working out in the evenings and pushing yourself, you should be sleepy a few hours later. If you're stressed out about things in your life, it can really mess with your sleeping patterns and you're ability to lose weight.

It sounds like you are on the right path to building a healthy lifestyle for yourself... why don't you post your meals for past week so folks here can take a look at what you're eating and make some suggestions? We're happy to help!

Hello team, I realize I have been a lousy challenge organizer and to be honest it is going to get worst in the coming weeks, so I want to ask you and the other teams if someone would like to continue from now on. I apologize, I had no experience and I have too many things going on right now and it is not fare for you to count on me for it. I will post this same message to the other 2 teams to see if someone wants to step up. THANKS!

Hey All,
I have started the thread for both week #3 and #4 reporting points (#1 and #2 are there if you haven't reported yet). I will be posting the running results for each group once I get more people to report...including myself  I am new at this so please be gentle with me. I have taken over from Marlanian who felt she had too much going on to do this so well so I will give it a shot :?
Please keep each other motivated and be accountable to yourself! (Don't forget to have some fun in the process and enjoy yourself!)
Good luck to everyone,
Deb
