Hello my name is Aleese and since I have not heard from any of my teammates yet I will start. I have been on SB since Aug 3, 2009. I have lost 18 lbs and I have hit a plateau. It may be due to too much salt, or eating out too much. I need to find that inner empowerment where I wouldn't think of bending the rules even an inch. I know it is inside, I just have to bring it back up to the surface.


1. What are your 2 goals to be achieved at the end of the challenge (by Dec 13th) go to the gym 3-4 times a week and be under 200 lbs.[/b]
2. What is your starting weight (optional) 220.5[b]

3. What are your measurements (optional)? I only measure my hips and my waist.
4. What are your 2 goals for week #1. Choose something that is really challenging but that you know you can achieve. It can be anything from getting your water in, exercising, avoiding temptation, anything that has been a struggle and will use the motivation of this team effort. to eat only 1 fruit and 1 other complex carb
5. What is your moto? I have written certain affirmations down on paper so that I will see them several times a day.
6. Each week you will get an activity to win extra points. For week #1 it will be: introduce yourself. Please post in this thread.

Hi all!

Sorry, I've been super busy with work and only on "fun" computer sites very limited. I'll make a point to come here daily now, though.

I'm good with the De-Terminators. I'll have to think of some team names, I'm sure I can think of something. :D

1. What are your 2 goals to be achieved at the end of the challenge (by Dec 13th)? #1 - I would like to get as close to my goal weight as possible (about 20 lbs. if I can). #2 - I would like to do the third level of Jillian's 30 Day Shred workout. :D

2. What is your starting weight (optional)? My starting weight (11-1-09) is 230.0 lbs. That is with period bloat, so a bit more than usual.

3. What are your measurements (optional)? I only have my starting measurements from when I started SB, and I don't have the card with me.

4. What are your 2 goals for week #1? I need to drink more water daily, that's something I don't really think about and do because I get so busy with work. So always keeping a bottle of water with me is #1. Last week I biked 100 miles on top of my other workouts, but this week I have a much busier week, so I'd like to bike at least 50 miles on top of my other workouts for my #2. That's not as big of a challenge as the 100 mile goal I gave myself (and met!!) last week, but it will be challenging this week due to my busy schedule.

5. What is your moto? You gotta give some to get some, courtesy of Mr. Billy Blanks. :)

Hello, I am Crystal and I'm going to be a South Beacher for life due to my PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) that causes me to gain weight, especially in the mid-section. I lost 35 pounds way back about 6-7 years ago and kept it off successfully all this time. My husband and I wanted to start trying for a baby so I got off my BC pills, and suddenly gained 40 pounds in about 2-3 months. No matter what I did, I could NOT lose the weight. When I finally saw my doctor, she informed me of what was going on (I didn't know I had PCOS at the time) and how to fix it. So here I am, a South Beacher for life. :D

Thanks for coming aboard. If you have any other names for the team just post them. In the first question you only listed 1 goal. What is the other? I hope we can check in with each other daily. I really need a boost now especially since I have hit a plateau. It really makes me want to eat off track so to speak. I have lost 18 lbs and that was a major feat for me. I will not go back!!!! Have any words of advice?

Hi everyone I have been done with face 1 today. However, I cheated because I had a tamal, which I know is bad for me. any suggestions hat I can wait to to get back on track. I have lost 12 ponds.

I had a really long reply written to you yesterday and then my computer just died and I lost it all! So sorry! I am here and I am on board for the team challenge


1. What are your 2 goals to be achieved at the end of the challenge (by Dec 13th) To be around 10 lbs lighter and fit enough to jog/run for 5 - 8 minutes without feeling like I'm going to die!
2. What is your starting weight (optional) 146lbs
3. What are your measurements (optional)? I never measure myself, I let my clothes tell me the story.
4. What are your 2 goals for week #1. Go for 2 walks (brisk 20 minutes) and avoid temptation on the way home from work.
5. What is your moto? Nobody will do it for me!
6. Each week you will get an activity to win extra points.

I live in Ireland, I have a husband and two lovely little boys(ages 4 and 2). I joined SB after my second was born and lost about 20lbs in 4 months. I kept this off for a year and then went travelling for 2 months and unforunately put back on about 10lbs, through bad diet and no exercise.
I started SB again 2 weeks ago and lost 7lbs straight away. I still want to loose another 10 LBS.

I look forward to chatting with you over the next few weeks!

Welcome Golosa and AmyCailin,

I had a very emotional family situation yesterday that went into today. I had my first really big cheat today. It was a hot fudge sundae with nf yogurt. It was so comforting for me but that is it I will not have it anymore. I have to get back on track tomorrow. I have to find my determination again. I am having trouble finding it again. If anyone has words of advice please please send it my way.

It's good to have a cheat every once in a while, Aleese. I'm a "stress eater," too - I'm emotionally tied to food, luckily the majority of what I crave is healthy! :D

Well, I lost 1.4 lbs. this week, which rocked because I had a HORRIBLE week in terms of eating and working out. I only got two work out two days (and today I'm going to try to) and my eating was just blah. I'm putting it behind me and really busting butt this next week. I had a huge project for work that took all day every day for about a week (and the first part of this week), and then the second part of this week was catching up on things that I missed because of it...just overwhelming.

I also measured myself and I've lost a few inches since starting - I'll have to update later on what I lost, don't have the card in front of me.

Alright, enough talking...I'm going to get up and workout. I shouldn't be sitting here when I have time to workout.

How did everyone do with their weekly goals?

My first goal this week was to drink more water. I did pretty good, I made a conscious effort to drink more throughout the day. I'm definitely going to keep working on that.

My second goal was to bike 50 miles on top of my other workouts. I had a really bad week, both with eating and working out, due to my work schedule. However, I did get in one Tae Bo this week and I biked 40 miles, which is a lot more than I thought I'd get! So while I fell short of my goal, I'm happy about my progress and looking to push even more next week because it'll definitely be a lighter one!

Hi guys,
I've had a mixed week. I managed to resist temptations during the working week but had a bad weekend. I was away in London on a girlie weekend so it was tough.
I will be better this week! I have however done lots of walks which I have felt the benefit of. My legs are falling off!

Hi Everyone,

I had a decent week. I got the gym in 3 times and watched the amount of carbs that I eat in a day. This week I am having my husbands clients staying with us for a week. I know I will be going out to eat more than I like. I will have to really make a conscious effort to watch myself. I hope all of you have a good week and I hope to be able to check in sometime this week.

This week is going well for me. I biked 20 miles on Sunday, yesterday took a rest day due to work, and today I did Jillian's 30 Day Shred, level 2, and biked 20 miles. I'm going for my goal of 100 miles this week.
