I've IBS for about 10 years. There was really no treatment that really worked well for it when I was first diagnosed but since then there have been some medications that do seem to work. However, most of these medications are expensive and are for people who have severe IBS. I would have an espisode of IBS about once a month. I learned what would trigger my IBS symptoms like getting too much protein, stress, not enough fiber, or the right kind of fiber. When I started this WOE, I noticed a difference during P1. I was eating leaner cuts of meat, and getting in plenty of veggies, and the exercise helped with the stress. When I started P2 and added the whole grains and the fruit, I felt even better, and I haven't had an episode since (5 months).
I wouldn't say it was a God send, but this WOE (which is healthy) did the trick for me. I don't know about anyone else, because I know a couple of people with IBS who have always eaten healthy and they still have problems with IBS.
