Postby betty5424 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 1:12 am

I have a soy, treenut, shellfish allergy and celiac disease...I stay hungry all the time..sodium is another problem and I have copd..which I take nebulizer and pro air inhalers..
I live on benedryl..but have to buy it from a company..thank the Lord for that company..because I am allergic to metal..very highly...I thought I was the only person going thru this...My sheets and blankets and clothes have been a problem because of the soy in the material..Does anyone else have all these problems..
I can eat canoli oil, eggs, meat, I buy no salt any thing I can find...I can eat Pizza hut pizza...amish bread, sweet potatoes which I live on in a can...I can eat sugar...cornmeal..so I can fry potatoes, pintos no salt, and cornbread made from a can of corn and water and eggs and canoli oil..which I go up in weight back and forth..I am around 220...any help I would appreciate..bwwells48@hotmail.com

One thing I am wondering - is the information about allergies and sodium, and how Pizza Hut pizza fits into that, coming from a doctor? The reason I ask is that a couple of relatives of mine have celiac disease and can't eat most kinds of pizza. Here's a link to the food allergies chart Pizza Hut posts about its pizza ingredients:

And here's the nutrition information they publish, which includes sodium:

I can't speak to all the allergy problems, but I can say SBD is generally a healthy way of eating, and many people here who have allergies or other limitations on foods they can eat do fine. No one particular food is required on SBD, so people with food allergies have options. While it is certainly possible to eat out on SBD, many people cook most of their food at home, which gives them more choice about what to eat, allows them to control what goes into it, and helps them save money (compared with eating out or eating take-out.)
