You have achieved an amazing result with your weight loss, truly wonderful!

If i was to take a guess at your age, id say the before photos you look around early 50's. However, in the later photos, years really have dropped off you - id say you look around late 30's/early 40's.

Well done again, you are an inspiration to all!

I thought 52 for the first photo and late 30's for the recent ones...how fun to look so much younger in addition to the health benefits! I, like you, seem to have plateaued as of late, and do also enjoy my daily walks/jogs in a way that I NEVER dreamed of. Have you noticed that not only do you feel and look better, but your spirit is lighter as well? That's my newest favorite compliment, that I seem happier or have lightened-up lately!!!

Thanks for the inspiration on keeping with the SBD plan.

I've not been on this site for nearly a year and had to repost my missing BEFORE and AFTER photos on the first page of this thread. I thought it might send a bit of encouragement to those new to South Beach. I couldn't find the original photos I had scanned & posted, but I think these will show you that success is possible. Hopefully you can tell which are before and which are after without each being labeled. I am nearing my 46th birthday and have been implementing this way of eating for about 4 years without feeling too much pain or deprivation. I occasionally go back to phase 1 to lose those 5 lbs. that I regain from time to time. Good luck to everyone and stick with it!

Thanks for the kind remarks! I am a non-smoker and I wear sunscreen daily and have for most of my life. I think both have helped a lot. Good luck with your own weight loss--you are off to a good start!

It's been a long time since I have been to the South Beach diet forum, but I wanted to show my continued success with this way of eating. I have been able to keep my weight at my goal for several years now and have been pleased that I did not fall back into my old patterns. I am including updated photos so I can hopefully encourage someone else who needs a bit of motivation. My beginning weight was 168 in 2003. My current weight is 118 for a total loss of 50 lbs which is pretty dramatic since I am 5' 1". I went from a size 14 down to having size 4 being too loose on me in many instances. Just celebrated my 49th birthday. You have to make conscious decisions each and every day, especially when you make your trips to the grocery store. All the best to the rest of you trying to follow South Beach and don't give up!
