Cola

Hey all! I just started on my diet, I bought the SBDiet Book & the SBDiet Cookbook ... I'm so excited.
Well today is my 3rd day of PI & I don't feel too bad, a little tired but not bad. I weighed myself the first day I started and I am at 156 lbs, my goal is 130 lbs. I really hope I see some good results in the next 2 weeks, it would be a bummer if I don't lose anything, then I really won't want to move onto PII.
I am exercising everyday, I do indoor exercises (sit-ups, leg lifts etc...) and run every second day, so hopefully that will help me out a bit.
It is really tough right now cuz we have about 4 flats of Sobe's in our house so I'm all sad that I can't have one  . It's crazy there are like 66 Carbs in just 1 of those bottles, no wonder I was gaining weight, I always drink those and candy mmm. It just seems so weird to have so much good stuff in front of me and I'm actually not touching it, kinda cool though.
Anyway good-luck to everyone else!

Well, I thought I'd just let you know ... My sister started the diet with me and she weighed herself today, she has lost 2 lbs and this is only our 3rd day. I'm so happy for her, so I'm exited to see what I'll weigh on Monday. I'm only going to weigh myself once a week so I can keep the exitement of what I might be next.
Anyway, just thought I'd bring that up! :D

Thanks Kelsey...glad to be here :D .

I don't really drink much maybe once every 1-2 months & not to get drunk. Well since I started the diet, I realized I can't even have one casually if I wanted to. Well guess what ... My sister and I were passing by the liquor store and there was a big poster up advertising "Jack Rabbit" beer. Now for those of you who do drink and feel as though you can't get through this without a drink ... Waite ---Don't splurge, Jack Rabbit has 2.5 grams of carbs per bottle and only 85 calories, it also has 4.5% alcohol content. I talked to my other sister & she said she tried it and it was surprisingly very good. So I'm not trying to alcohol you up or anything but just to let you know there is something out there that you could possibly drink rather than Regular Beer.

Just to let you know though & I'm sure you already do ... we are not even allowed to have beer. But you know, some people are addicted to it and some may feel hopeless to the point where if they see their weight hasn't changed or the diet is just too overwhelming, this might help! If you do, please try to find this beer if anything or get active and try to make yourself do something so you don't think about it. I'm sure if you're depressed to the point where you think you need one, you won't want to, but really try. I'm saying this out of concern only because my sister who is doing this diet with me loves to drink, she has been to Alcoholics Anonymous, succeeded for about 5 years and then Started drinking again about a year ago. I try to keep her away from alcohol by not drinking with her, or only having just half a drink and going to bed so she won't want to drink anymore. Sometimes it doesn't work but I try. I really don't want her to drink, but if she's going to while she's on this diet, then that's the only thing that she can MAYBE have one of and then she won't feel guilty about it in the morning because it never really effected her diet.

Anyway, the bad influence that I may be. I hope this information helped a bit. Of course it is suggested that you don't follow it if you don't have to, but if all else fails and you feel weak and hopeless we are all here to talk to aswell, glad to give you advice and make sure you continue with your diet and make it possible to reach your goals.

Today I went out and got some Coppertone self-tan lotion. I put it on about 2 hours ago and I've got this wicked nice (fake) tan. I'm trying to beautify myself for my boyfriend who is coming back on June 3rd, I miss him so much and am so happy to see him so I want to look somewhat good for him when he gets here.

I'm on my 5th day of PI and I feel so much better about myself already! I don't know if I have lost any weight yet, but I sure feel like it. I get to weigh myself in a couple days so I'm really exited.

Anyway, hope all's well with you guys! Take care...

Well I'm on Day 7 now of P1 ... THIS SUCKS!!! There's JUNK FOOD ALL AROUND ME. My niece just had a birthday party yesterday and there is left over icing in the fridge (I always eat the icing) There is Rainbow Cake in the fridge, on the counter wrapped up, in the pantry wrapped up .................... .................... What do I do, this is insane I am really wanting that damn cake. I won't eat it, but what if I do? Can somebody please tell me about their cravings and how they or if they overcame them when temptation started to get the best of them. Only 7 more days to go til' I can eat more in P2 ... :x

at my house there are temptations all over too my best advice is put in freezer or something or give it to someone else to keep at their house.
If something is talking to me so loud I cant stand it I do 1 bite. And I stick to it. But in P1 I stood strong but I only lasted 8 days because I was so sick. And if you have time read journals or book gives you strength. Good luck

Hey Cola!!! I hope your doing ok with the temptations in the house...I say feed it to the garbage disposal, if you cant do that give it away, or just get it out of the house, feed it to kids, whatever LOL

I came up with a little diet mantra, so when things get tough and Im tempted to try something I just say my little mantra over and over in my head.

Thanks Darlene & Kelsey, your concern for my temptation day is awesome! I did really well, I never had anything at all, the only sweet fix I got today was the Vanilla flavoring I put in my coffee that is made with Splenda sugar 0.5 grams of carbs per tbsp and I had 2 tbsp's  it was tasty!

You guys are so great!

Hi Cola!
I was reading Cricket's Journal and read your comments about getting tired of the same old foods everyday. Well if you like chili, there is an awesome recipe on this forum for phase 1. My husband and I love it. We also eat it as a taco salad. That is how I like it the best. Here it is if your interested.

1-2 tsp olive oil
2 bell peppers, diced (optional)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced (or use pre-minced garlic from jar)
12 oz extra lean ground sirloin (optional)
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 14-oz can diced tomatoes
1 15-oz can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 15-oz can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 15-oz can tomato sauce

Combine ground sirloin, bell pepper, onion and olive oil in skillet and cook over med-high heat til there is not pink in meat remaining and veggies are tender. Add all other ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes.

Hubby and I perfer only one bell pepper and just black beans. Make changes at will. This is one of the recipes that have gotten me through phase one. We also make a double batch just to have on hand if we don't feel like cooking one night.
I hope this helps! We are going to try the crustless pizza this week. I will let you know how it turns out.

Keep up the good work! You did great resisting the cake!
