| Hi!! I've been reading posts from a few days ago and saw that someone said that carrots were now allowed on phase one. I have a book printed in 2003 and it lists carrots under foods to avoid. I LOVE raw carrots and would really like to eat them as a crunchy snack or addition to a meal. Does anyone know for sure that carrots are now allowed? Thanks! |

I have looked in both of my books and they are not allowed. I love carrots too, but they are on the AVOID list !!! They have a GI of 70. I read on the Prevention website Dr. Agatston said that you should eat food with a GI of 50 or below.
Hope that helps.........

Thanks Angie for the input. I'm a tad disappointed but I can live with that! Thanks too for the info on the carrots' GI value. I'm glad to find out what the limit of the GI is. So now I will be sure to eat foods that have a GI lower than 50.
Thanks again...Teresa |
