Hi SBDers: It will be three weeks tomorrow that I made a decision to follow the SBD. I have lost seven pounds. I really don't need to lose more than maybe five more pounds as weight is not the issue with me. The issue is SUGAR! All my life I have had a sugar addiction. I was getting sick and tired of replacing "meals" with sugar items such as candy and cookies. I do not want to get diabetes as I age. A friend told me all about S Beach and I decided to buy the book and give it a go.
I am on Phase two now and just started eating fruits again. I am taking it slow. I haven't had any bread and don't know if and when I will try this food.
I have shopped at Trader Joe's and found some whole wheat pasta products which I will be using soon. Their nuts are very tasty too.
This forum is so supportive and educational. I am so glad we have this system out there to read all about each other's personal journeys.
Good luck to each and every one of you, you can and will do it! |

| I am now in my 5th week on the SBD. I have lost ten pounds! I am doing a lot of reading about nutrition. I search the internet for information which I can then use in my eating habits. I am on one snack a day, fudge pops at night. (sugar free) I am trying to vary each and every meal so I don't get bored. I think I am getting closer to the day that I can honestly say that this is a habit and lifestyle. I don't need to lose much more weight. I am 53 and 5'7" tall, starting at 150 and now at 140. I think I will work on five more and then see what happens. I still eat six times a day as I do get hunger pangs when I don't eat. I drink 8 glasses of water a day and two glasses of red wine each evening. ( this helps me relax and sleep well) I think that this is the best diet made known to man. |

Audrey, I'm glad things are going well for you! It sounds like you're doing great. What a good idea to use this diet mainly to stop your sugar addiction. I, too, was becoming a bit sugar-addicted. I think it's one of those things -- the more you eat, the more you want.
You're doing a great thing for your health -- good for you! :) |

you have done good. I have a long way to go but I want this to be the rest of my life way of eating. I just wonder why doctors havent tested this diet, it seems to make so much sense to me. I recomend it to any diabetic I know because of what it has done for me.

| I have been on the SBD now for a little over two months. I have lost a total of 15 pounds. I am at my goal and am now trying to stay at this weight. I am in the habit of eating good foods now. This way of eating has helped me to feel healthier than I 've ever felt. I really enjoy reading the forum. I have received many many recipes which have helped me to focus on this diet. Thanks to each and every one of you for your support and encouragement. |
