OK, I guess I should start this. Today was my first day...it is now almost dinner so I will try to remember what I had-

b- 2 eggs, 1 oz cheese

s- 10 almonds & motz stick

l- oriental cabbage salad with 2 oz smoked salmon & cucumbers

s- Dannon low carb yogurt (vanilla) and smoked turkey roll (lettuce & thin slices of smoked turkey - was hungry!

d- (was thinking about having 2 chicken tenders w/ low carb teryaki (Atkins, no sugar) and the broiled pesto tomatoes from the book.

s- will have a lemon zest ricotta with the remainder of my almond ration for the day

I still feel hungry, or maybe just anxious. I have been under the restrictions of another very strict diet for so long, I think my body is in shock that I actually had sesame oil and salmon on my salad today!

will post more later!

I forgot to mention, when I was at the store today buying my food to start my first week, I splurged on an $18 bottle of wine for a treat after I finish my 2 weeks. It is sitting on my counter so it see it every time I go in the kitchen :D

and water today, so for about 50oz...it is now almost 5pm

Still doing fine. Lost a pound from yesterday...yes, I am a compulsive weigher

Anyway, today so far:

b- 2 eggs, canadian bacon

s- motx cheese stick & 10 almonds

w- about 25oz so far

for lunch I brought a LF greek salad from Trader Joes (my fav store if you couldnt tell!) and a HB egg

for snack I brought 1 oz of very LF cheddar (also from TJ) and another HB egg.

I dont know if that is too much food or not.

Havent thought of dinner yet. I am having a hard time getting the riccotta stuff down....bleck! I will try the lemon one tonight. I wonder, can I bake it? Maybe that would help.

You don't have to eat the ricotta if you don't want to (I don't really like it myself, but my DH does, so I make it for him only.) Just substitute something else that will "stay" with you a while before going to bed.

Sounds like you're doing well so far! I'm going to have to check out TJs ready made salads, I haven't done that (actually, just started lurking, er, shopping there since starting SBD.) I hate making my own salads.

:P That very LF cheese from Trader Joes turned out to be really bad! It is 75% FF, but it is dry & crumbly and tastes funny. Maybe I will use it in omlets or something, but from now on I will buy the 50% FF stuff.

So far I have had only a little trouble staying away from carbs. I thought this would be much harder than it is...maybe it just hasnt hit me yet! But then again, I have been restricted pretty good for some time now. I do miss my pretzels and popcorn! But since I have been off soda (big time diet coke addict, off since March 7, 2004) I have not craved those things as badly.

Otherwise it is an OK day, very stressful. I think i will go out for a walk or something! UGH!

Hi, Marie! Just popping in to say hi. I see you just started, and it looks like you're doing really well!

What a great idea to have a good bottle of wine on the counter, reminding you that in a couple of weeks you can indulge! I'm a huge wine lover, so I can understand the motivation there. ;)

Keep up the good work!

Well, tonight I took my lemon ricotta & put it in a little custard dish & baked it until it was slightly golden brown on top...it was much better. I ate it warm. :)

Dinner went well. I made chicken parmesian w/o some homemade LF spaghetti sauce & a little motz & parm cheese. Had a salad & a little avocado.

This sounds so silly, but sometimes I am so happy that I get to eat real food like this, I could almost cry! :D

I get to go buy a new computer tomorrow....woohoo!

Stopping by to say "hi" and give my support. Great tip on baking the ricotta-I will give that a whirl for sure. I have been putting mine in a mini food processor which gives it a real creamy consistency. Have a great day!
