Hi,
I'm on Phase I and just can't eat eggs every day for breakfast. Do you know if cottage cheese is okay? I like to have cottage cheese, splenda and sliced almonds. I've been eating it almost every day and once in awhile will have some eggs (usually on the weekend)
Thanks

Hi Patti....
I too am in Phase I and my SB books have cottage cheese listed(1-2% or fat free). I love it and it is one of my staple foods. The eggs get to me too!
Hope things are going well!

Thanks Deb.
I'm glad to hear that cottage cheese is okay. I use the 1% and I'll have it almost every morning (except on the weekends). I like to add some cinnamon, splenda and sliced almonds for crunch.
Good luck on Phase I. I've did Phase I back in September and lost 7 pounds.

Hi,
Although, I am not too crazy for cottage cheese, I have tried mixing Splenda and cinnamon with it. I also like blending the cottage cheese with the Ranch Packets and using that as a veggie dip. Does anyone else have good cottage cheese recipes? It's such a great source of protein! |

Tiff,
I found a dessert / snack recipe that calls for a container of cottage cheese to be mixed with a packet of sugar free jello powder (any flavor). I tried it with cherry jello, and it was really, really good. Very sweet, but a half a cup was very filling. Simple, yet satisfying!

Cottage cheese fine. This is something you can even have on the Atkins diet. The lower the fat in cottage cheese the more sugars. For example, FF has 7 sugars. 1% has 5 sugars. I think regular has 4. I would go with the 1%.
I put lime juice and splenda it and it was yummy. You could probably use the ricotta cheese dessert recipes and sub cottage cheese. I did not care for the ricotta. |
