Breakfast
8 ounces coffee splenda and maybe 4 T 1% milk
2 eggs with 1/2 cup spinach scrambled with 1/8th cup of cheddar cheese

Lunch
Salad with chick peas handful, 3 ounces boiled ham, broc florettes, sprinkled the top with cheddar cheese, 2 T ranch dressing

the oddest thing is normally I don't eat breakfast and barely eat lunch I am so full right now I could pop and amazingly it seemed last night the cravings weren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. I am normally an after 6 p.m. eater now I am trying to be sure to be done with all eating by 6 p.m.

cami - by not eating after 6 p.m. you set your body up to drop your blood sugar, increase cravings and making you starving the next morning. There is no good reason NOT to eat after 6 p.m. even people with GERD can eat later as long as it's small to moderate amount and not "heavy" food. Planning for a snack before bed may help you sleep better and will for sure help keep your metabolism up and your blood sugar stable. That's a 12 hour fast [not recommended on SBD] for most people, unless you're one of "those" people up making breakfast at 4 a.m.!!!!

ETA - of course you are at liberty to do whatever you want, not trying to beat you up....just suggesting you rethink the basis behind SBD in relation to an ~12 hour fast.

its kind of part of the entire "plan" to be healthier, vs just dieting to lose weight. fluctuating blood sugar isn't good for you....and I'm not the scientific one to explain why, but frequent meals and snacks [thus the required snacks on p1] are important to "stabilize" your blood sugar, cutting back cravings, making you more in control. As always, for people who are interested in teh program to improve their health, I recommend getting the book - from library, from a friend, or buy it....and read it, see why it works. Is it enough to have the list and template - yes, but if you want to understand how and why it works - you have to look at the book [or at least read all the authoritative posts on this board.]

I ordered the book from amazon it was under 15.00. It should be here by Tuesday I can't wait. Thanks for telling me this. I just know that night time eating is bad, I suppose that is the bad foods not the good foods. I really do think though maybe you shouldn't eat an hour or 2 before bed?

You don't have to give up night time snacks.
The problem for a lot of people however with night time snacking, is that it usually involves "mindless eating": sitting in front of the TV consuming food in large quantities without giving it much thought.
The principals of SB actually encourage a healthy snack to help stabilize blood sugar and prevent binging, whenever you are hungry.

It's the number of calories taken in over the course of the day that matter... not the time of day they are consumed.

The time before going to bed is personal. If I don't eat shortly before I go to sleep, I wake up with stomach pain [but I have GI issues] so a light snack and/or a glass of milk is an everyday thing. Maybe I'd lose faster if I didn't....but I think that's probably the least of my sins!!! At least i've gone from ice cream or chips or cookies to a nsa dessert or some triscuits or the warm brownie thing.

I am waiting for my new book also :) I have the original book and read it years ago.. but I don't seem to remember the eating before bed part. Anyways.. last night I had a snack of two slices of LF cheese, 4 olives and some cucumber slices with hummus. I felt really good this morning when I went for my run. I will be incorporating the snacks into my new diet plan.. thanks everyone!!! You're all so helpful!
