Am I doing something wrong?

My 14 days of P1 end tomorrow and I have noticed a problem. I cannot keep up with all that we are supposed to eat. I am ok for breakfast but nothing else after that. I forget the snacks and at lunch and dinner I cannot eat everything I should. Once I get past the vegetables I am full. But I do notice that I am hungry about 1-2 hours later. Anyone have any suggestions for this? Should I try to space it out and eat these meals parts at a time to get them all in? I know that I have lost a few pounds but I dont have a good scale so it's hard to say how much exactly- I am judging just by look and th way my clothes feel. So I guess my biggest problem is that I am not hungry enough- is that normal?

I can't give you a long reply as I'm off out - but very quickly - if you're hungry a couple of hours after eating then THAT is when you should be having a snack or another small meal.

And yes, I find it difficult to eat everything, I just space it out as much as poss and listen to my body's hunger signals. With all the messed up cravings and starving myself, I've ruined my natural appetite, so I'm having to relearn everything again. Perhaps this is the same for you.

Ooh, and please post a typical day's menu so we can have a lookie. HTH :)

Are you including the good fats? Those help with staying full longer.

Scale back on the vegetable quantity so that you can still eat the right things but in smaller portions/proportions.

For instance, if you can't do 2 cups of veggies AND 3 oz of protein, try 1½ cups of veggies and 2 oz of protein. Plus the recommended good fats. The the veggies are important, but if all you're eating is veggies at lunch and dinner, it isn't SB. You need a balance.

Thanks for your replies. My typical day looks like this...

Breakfast-
2 scrambled eggs- usually with some green peppers and scallions
non-stick cooking spray in the pan
6oz low sodium v8 juice
sometimes I add cheese to the eggs or a piece of candian bacon

Lunch-
cottage cheese on lettuce and cucumbers
diet pepsi
turkey or ham lunch meat

or

tuna with lettuce
cucumbers with cottage cheese

Dinner
some type of meat
2 different veggies- I am not big on veggies so I usually eat the same- broccoli and green beans
I spray I cant believe its not butter on the veggies

If I snack its usually nuts or a cheese stick. I flavor my water with crystal light. I didnt mark everything but its all sugar free, low fat or fat free. The cheese I think is the 2% milk kind.

I noticed by reading some posts that I needed beans and tried some lentils. I need to figure out a way to make them taste good. I think alot of this might be my schedule. I get up around 11 and have breakfast around 12. Lunch 3-4 and then dinner 6-7 (try to eat dinner with the kids). so by 9-10 at night I am hungry but afraid to eat at night. I am usually up until 2-4am. maybe I can push dinner back later- is there a problem eating dinner after 8pm?

I am 31 and this is the first time I have ever paid attention to what we eat. My daughter is 14 and is also on the diet as she has a few pounds on me. All the help on these boards is appreciated. This forum is my life force. Sorry this got so long! Thanks

Your day/schedule looks SO much like mine! I'm also a late riser/night owl :D

I say: if you're hungry in the evening after your 6pm dinner, have a snack or a very light meal (such as some mozzerella and tomatoes, or a small mixed salad, or some roasted chick peas etc). You're not going to bed until 2am, so eating at 9 isn't exactly going to bed on a full stomach. Indeed, I have read here about needing food in the evening to ensure the blood sugar stays level while sleeping. As long as the food you choose is SB friendly :)
