Hi I'm Tessa, I am starting the SB diet on Friday. (because it's my son's birthday, dad's birthday, etc this week so I am starting after that!)
I am nervous but very glad I found this message board.
I figure if I can get through the first two weeks on Phase one I will be ok!
However the first two weeks are terrifying me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE carbs! and fruit.
I am not big on eggs so I am nervous about breakfast. I have already started walking every day so that's a good start.
My new friend Dana promises me I can do this so we will see! |

HI Tessa! :) today is my first day and its been pretty good so far. i have done SBP1 before (right around thanksgiving) and i made it through!!
i am a carb junkie and well fruit...yum! ;) but its not to bad. you have to want the change in lifestyle for it to work!
i really dont do eggs either, but a hard boiled egg is really good...do you have the SB book? they have some good recpies in there. (im gonna try the quiche cups to go (need to make them tonight or tomorrow night).
good luck, and those two weeks will fly by, like nothing. dont fret or worry about it too much and it will be over before you know it! ;) |

Hi Tessa- I'm starting Friday as well!! I am getting married next year on the 4th, so I need to start now. I'm a little nervous, but it will be great. I love fruit and pasta... so these first 2 weeks are going to be rough. But I'm here if you need to vent or talk!

I have talked myself out of the Dr. Bernstein thing (been there, DONE THAT) and I think I should try something a little less invasive.
It sounds like there are a few of you starting this Friday, and Id like to join in the par-tay.... |

I just started today. About 3 of years ago I went on south beach and had amazing success. Lost 30 pounds and kept it off for 1.5 years. Then my job transfered me to Asia for work and all the new food and new friends and newfound singledom found me back up all 30 of the pounds I worked so hard to lose and i've tried jumping back into several diets since i gained the weight back but with only very temporary success. All the temptations of "just one quick drink and a bite after work" and dinner parties etc always seem to get the better of me.
My mom and my aunt inspired me to stick to the plan last time but with being so far away this year it's been harder and harder to stick with it.
This time around though, i'm determined to stick with it and lose all 30 (and maybe a little more) by this fall. I have christmas with my family in south america which means lots of bikinis and I want to feel healthy and confident and treat my body like it deserves to be treated so I can start to look the way I like to look.
I've read through these posts and i like all of the positive attitudes. I hope we can all serve as a good support to eachother along the way! :D |

| Hi ladies, can I join you too. I had success on South Beach 2 years ago. I lost 25lbs and kept it off but I slowly fell off the wagon, got lazy and gained back all my weight. I just joined the gym and I am ready to jump back on the wagon for the long haul!!!! |

Hey Beachers--
How's the first few days going for you? My first day was SO difficult-- I wanted all bad carbs in sight!! And it was amazing to me just how many carbs I ate before... crazy! The second day, I had a little bit of the SB flu, but it improved with some yogurt. Today has been good so far-- I started with yogurt this time with breakfast, so that has helped with the weakness.
And...
I'm already down 5 pounds!!! :)
Hooray!
I hope your first few days are going well for you! |
