Hi everyone,
So I was on the SB Diet a few years ago, and managed to lose 70 pounds. Unfortunately, I got sidetracked, gained it all back- and then some. I got to a point where I was extremely miserable and had difficulties doing the most basics of things. Needless to say, I've tried other diets and whatnot, but this seems to be the only thing I can do, stick to, and have success. I've been doing it again for about 2.5 weeks, and have lost 13 pounds so far, so I think I'm off to a decent start. I know I feel better already. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has any words of wisdom for the, "to do" and "not do", to make it easier to stick with it for the long haul. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

go into it with the expectation that this is how you will eat for the rest of your life and that consistency is more important than perfection. practice self compassion along the way. find ways to make it work, not excuses for why it won't. do it because it is the right way to eat for our bodies, not because we might lose a little weight along the way and take whatever weight loss occurs, whenever it occurs as a little reminder that you have made a good choice for yourself and those who love you and those you love in return.

Thanks, RedRox. That's very helpful, particularly your statement, "find ways to make it work, not excuses for why it won't". I think I need to tape that to my refrigerator, and maybe my forehead!

See and I think you could put that up there too! ;) "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." -- Albert Einstein. just stop the insanity and get off the roundabout and keep moving forward!

I've always liked that quote, and it's so true! I think I've found my new, "snack", too... which is really a good thing. A couple of months ago, I discovered hummus. I use that now as my treat when I have the munchies. I always feel a little bit like I'm, "cheating" when I eat it, because I like it so much. That goes back to what you said before though... I have to keep reminding myself that it's about healthier living, and remembering that this is what healthy snacks are supposed to be like. :) Ah....
