| just started 2nd week into P2 and all of a sudden I am starving! P1 was a breeze, and things were ok untill just recently. Yesterday I couldnt get enough. Ended up having an ice cream sandwich after work, then istead of making the fish I bought for dinner, I ordered a pizza and had like 8 pieces!!! Ive been sticking to the P2 foods, adding a different fruit each day and i had whole wheat bread once on Saturday. I've calculated my calorie intake and its usually around 1400-1600, have veggies with every meal, yet for some reason I feel like I havent eaten in years!!! Is this normal?? |

| I'm still in my first week of P2. Tried eating a grain for breakfast one day and found I was much hungrier later on in the day. It could be an issue of when you're eating your fruit... |

Ducky,
It sounds like one of the allowed Phase II foods caused a major carb craving. You might want to head back to Phase I to banish the cravings (a couple of days should do it), and then re-introduce the allowed carbs very slowly. Watch to see if something triggers a big "hunger". Another piece of advice, make sure you have either some fat or protien with the carbs...protein and fat make us feel fuller.
Hope this helps. |

| Yup -- I found if I had carbs or fruit with breakfast I starved until lunch, just like the good old days. It's interesting learning your individual body's reaction to various foods. |

| Thanks for all your replies. Dont know what I'd do without you guys! I have been eating my fruit in the evening, in fact, reintroducing P2 foods in the evening so that I didnt have that issue with having the cravings thoughout the day. But evey little bit of advice helps and thank you once again. |

| Are you exercising? If so 1400-1600 calories isn't enough. I have found tht following the SBD if I do a hard workout I am really hungry and need to make sure I replenish my body with good carbs. |

| Before I started SB I used to do 35-45 minutes of cardio 4-5 days week and 30-40 minutes of weights 3 days a week. When I started SB however, I had NO energy to do ANYTHING! Since starting P2 I have started 30-40 minutes of cardio 4-5 days a week and am panning on starting back with the weights Monday, but only one muscle group a day, so figure about 15 minutes, until I can get to my goal weight (5 more lbs) an then plan to up it. What I eat now I feel like i am eating TOOmuch, let lone not enough! My menu for today is Breakfast - 3 egg omlet with 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, green pepper, onion, mushroom, zucchinni (sp), tomatoe, and mozzerella cheese. Snack - 1/2 cucumber sliced and chocolate whey protein shake. Lunch - tuna salad made with water packed tuna, 1/4 tsp. olive oil, onion, green pepper, tomatoe, and mayo on a whole wheat low carb wrap, spinach salad with cucumers and vinegarette dessing, jello. Snack will be cheese stick. Dinner will be talapia, cauliflaur (mashed), zucchini, salad, jello. Snack - 2 Tbls all natural peanut butter and some grapes. Late night snack - ricotta creme. And somewhere in there a glass or two of red wine. This is basically what my day of eating consists of (minus the wine 'every day'. To me it doesnt sound like its not enough, but too much. HELP! I have started drinking more water, about 10 8oz glasses a day after reading the water cure, and that has helped my hunger pangs. Thanks for listening who ever made it this far into my post!! |

I don't think it sounds like you are eating too much at all!!! The reason you had no energy at the beginning was because you weren't eating carbs and they supply your body with energy.
Don't decrease what you are eating. Keep working out and eating well. Now I can tell when my body needs more carbs after I do a hard workout. If I don't eat them, I end up starving by the end of the day. On days that I run (5-6 miles) I will almost always eat those oatmeal pancakes (recipe from SBD book, P2). If I don't I find my veggie/cheese omlette doesn't cut it. Listen to your body. It will tell you what it needs.
You go girl! |
