...motivate my a** to do some sort of exercise. :!: :?: :!: :?:

I just can't get myself motivated to do anything remotely resembling exercise during the week. I get up at 6:30 - to work by 8 and work until 5. By the time I'm home, I will find anything else as an excuse to not do anything. Next thing you know - it's time to make dinner, pick up and get ready for tomorrow.

I just don't know what the heck is wrong with me. And yes - I've ALWAYS been like this...

On the week ends - I'm up a bit later - but as soon as breakfast is over, I'm cleaning and gardening and running around doing errands. Of course, then I think I'm making up for what I'm not doing during the week. Oh.. how we fool ourselves.

Can someone come and drag me into some sort of routine? lol

Do you like to dance? You could play your favorite upbeat music and just dance around. It doesn't have to be anything formal-- just start moving.

How about walking??? Wii Fit? Swimming? I'm a fan of yoga-try something new.

Tell yourself you're going to try to do some exercise for only a month. Schedule about 40min-1hr of excercise in for 5 days a week and stick to it for a month. If after the month you don't feel any different then stop doing it.

By then you will have worked it into your daily routine and you'll feel great, clothes will fit much better and that will be your motivation to continue doing it.

I know this is not cheap idea but isn't your health worth it? I found a gym on my way home from work and stopped by before I came home. Thankfully, they had tons of classes to take and before I knew it, I was hooked on spinning.
I made sure I went shopping on Sunday and made meals to stick in the freezer, then pop in the microwave when I came home.
Working out can become your routine if you allow yourself time for a new routine.

I find it very difficult to work out after work - I'm hungry and by the time I get home and make dinner it's usually really late. So I did something I thought I would NEVER do, since I've never been a morning person: I started exercising before work. That means getting up as early as 5:30, which I thought would definitely kill me but didn't. And to my surprise, I found that I had so much more energy when I arrived at work than if I hadn't exercised, and was in a better frame of mind. It just sets up your day nicely - or as my husband says, "It's like a happy pill that lasts all day."

I'd suggest getting up a little earlier and maybe try walking for 20-30 minutes before work. The hardest part is getting out of bed. Once you do that a few times it's much easier.
