Re-gained on Phase 1

Has anyone experience a weight gain on Day 8 or any day of Phase 1? I started at 155, after 2-3 days I was down to around 154, then consistantly lost between 1/2 and 3/4 lb. Then on Day 8 I regained almost 2 pounds. Very discouraging since I'm sticking to the book. :(

maybe you just had something higher in sodium? our weight goes up and down constantly based on a variety of factors. i wouldn't read too much into this. it's most likely just water retention. I doubt you ate 7000 calories more than you expended which is what it would take to add 2 lbs of fat. (similarly you need to create a net calorie deficit of that same amount over time to lose 2 lbs. P1 loss is almost all water weight anyway.)

I use light salt as I have slightly elevated blood pressure but I may have gone a little heavy on it. I also didn't realize that all the weight lost was water. I'm much relieved now.

CO actually. not necessarily all, but most of the quick and easy weight loss is water loss from depleting glycogen stores. try not to drive yourself too crazy with "scale watching". hard to do, but day to day fluctuations are just part of life. long term trends over weeks and months are really the only good indicators of progress, or lack thereof.

CO is another beautiful place I hear. My #4 son lived in AZ for about 18 years and loved it. I visited him but it was realllllly hot (don't give me 'but it's dry'.) Hot is hot LOL.
Thanks for the weight assurance and the advice. I will avoid getting on the scale for now and check it sometime in a week or two.

Don't get too "married" to the scale numbers (easier said than done) They will drive you NUTS!!

How do you feel? How are your clothes fitting?
