I've been trying to lose 20 for the past few months. I'd lose 5-10lbs and stick to my plan but the scale would go up and then it just kept climbing...so, after doing some research, it was all so clear that it was all of those darn carbs that I've had. Not even bad foods just low fat crackers, low cal snacks, low cal jello, et c. And, instead of weight loss, I'm gaining weight.
So, I bought all of the foods on the list for phase 1 that I like and will start tomorrow morning. I even gave all of my carbs, fat free crackers, fat free pretzels, jello snacks, snack well cookies, grapes, sandwich bread to my neighbord to completely remove all of it from my house. You can't eat it iff it is not there, right?
So, wish me luck! I've never tried to quit carbs or even reduce them so we'll see how this goes.

Well, don't switch from "no fat" to "no carbs." There are still plenty of good carbs even in p1. It is more of a reduction in carbs like you mentioned, as well as a switch to better carbs (like vegetables!).

Not ALL carbs are bad. There are healthy ones that support our health in a variety of important ways and unhealthy ones that add little nutritional value to our diets and can cause serious health issues if consumed in large quantities over time. SB maximizes the usage of the good carbs and eliminates or limits the usage of the unhealthy ones. Try not to look at this program as "low" anything. It's balanced, healthy eating in appropriate portion sizes. More than anything other food group, it's really more of a vegetable based program. ;)

Good luck - I started yesterday and am really excited about the good things I'm doing for myself.
